We made reservations for Friday night, however on Thursday night we were walking back to our hotel from Rialto Bridge and came across Ristorante San Silvestro - so we decided to stop and eat dinner. What a great dinner! The food was fantastic, the service excelled and ypu couldn't ask for better weather to sit outside, enjoy dinner, a bottle of wine and people watch. If the weather cooperates tomorrow evening you may find us there again (we want to try the Branzino - it looked awesome).
Edit - so we went back tonight (Monday - 5 nights later) to get the Branzino...first off, we showed up and our waiter from Thursday night recognized us right away which shocked us - we were just a couple of random people off the street in a very busy restaurant 5 nights ago...just wow! And he brought us each a complimentary glass of Prosseco...we theb ordered a bottle of wine, the spaghetti with clams (awesome) and yes - the Branzino....what an experience! And it was amazing. They also brought us a other complimentary side AND a shot of Limoncello to go with our espresso and dessert...can't say enough about the food or the experience here. I would give them more than 5 stars if I could. Read moreReturning to Ristorante San Silvestro felt less like dining out and more like dropping back into a long-lost friendship. Our waiter, Granit (Nico), recognized us from over a year ago and welcomed us with the kind of warmth that makes you wonder if he moonlights as a memory champion. His humor, charm, and genuine joy in serving made the evening as sparkling as the cocktails in our glasses. The food? A love letter from the sea. The briny brightness of Krystale oysters, delicate baby scallops, and both the grilled and fried seafood platters were like dueling symphonies—each with their own delicious rhythm. The gnocchi arrived as little clouds of perfection, and yes, we shamelessly finished with a divine tartufo (because dessert is clearly the only logical place to begin and end a Venetian feast). Delightful cocktails flowed into smooth digestives—grappa for the brave, amaro for the romantics—each sip a punctuation mark on an evening well spent. San Silvestro is proof that some meals are more than food: they’re memories plated beautifully, seasoned with laughter, and served with a wink by someone who somehow remembers your face...
