When I was looking for a non-touristy, non-commercial hotel to stay at, Residenza Corte Molin caught my eye with the old Venetian charm and historical feel. The building was built in the 13th century how cool is that?! To stay somewhere that was built 800 years ago! Ambra was super helpful with her email and instructions on getting to Corte Molin. PLEASE listen to her advice on travel from Marco Polo Airport. We got there in an hour from the time we left the airport via ATVO express bus (not ACTV local bus) and Vaporetto to San Silverstro stop. We didn't even need her to come get us, we found it without any issues. Do some studying before hand and you'll be 100% fine. The bed was super comfortable and we loved how old the property is. You have to respect a place like this and treat it with care. Our 2 night stay was amazing and we loved it! Antonella made us the most amazing breakfast!! If you're looking for a "hot American" breakfast go stay at a commerical hotel off the grand canal with the rest of the ignorant tourist. If you you're looking to experience Venezia with old world charm with wonderful ladies, stay here. The furniture in this place has a ton of history, ask Ambra about the chess set and dresser in the common area. In the mornings, people get up to go to work and take their children to school, the location was PERFECT. Away from all the tourists, quiet, but crazy close to anything you want to see or do. Great local places to eat as well that doesn't have the menu outside. Rule of thumb, don't eat anywhere that displays the menu outside. Time your travel well, it's not hard, the late check-in fee is more than fair. Thank you for everything!!...
Read moreStayed for a weekend in December, and we can honestly say it was excellent. Communications from the hotel was fantastic and they even arranged a private water taxi from the airport, which I had asked for as a treat for my husbands 50th. Ambra met us and escorted us to the hotel upon arrival, which was a lovely gesture. I also asked if they could arrange chocolate & wine in the room and this was done with no problem at all. ( excellent choice too!!) |The breakfast was continental style, fresh warm bread & croissant, cheese, ham eggs etc. Served by the lovely lady who couldn't do enough for us. |The rooms were clean, spacious and quiet and we loved the decor. |The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful and the hotel is situated within easy walking distance of most tourists attractions, and the water buses/taxis are within easy reach for hopping on and off if you want to go further afield.... Couldn't of asked for more to be honest, and we will definitely be returning next year. Thankyou for an amazing...
Read moreDO NOT BOOK!!!!!! We booked this hotel through Capital One Travel. Since the booking, we were never emailed, called, or in any way contacted by the hotel. Worse than that, the only phone number that we had for the hotel was never answered and always said it was busy. I even asked Capital One Travel to ask them to contact me which never happened. The day we arrived to the hotel at the check in time listed in the Capital One confirmation email, we were locked out, nobody answered the doorbell for over an hour, the phone number still didn’t work, the lights were seemingly off, and we were stuck outside in Venice with our luggage’s (and yes, we were at the right place, it said the name of the hotel on the door). We stood outside for over an hour talking to Capital One Travel before they finally provided us with a refund (don’t think it was the hotel that provided the refund). Overall, DO NOT BOOK, unless you enjoy being locked out of your hotel and needing to find somewhere...
