They'll dupe you... I was a single person eating alone and specifically said I didn't want to order too much food. I asked about the seafood antipasti (specifically if it was raw or cooked), then ordered the bass at the suggestion of the server. He also recommended a merlot and told me it would be $16 total if I had two glasses (they usually only served this by the bottle). He brought out the $19 antipasti, then the bass ($19.50) and a plate of bread. I hadn't tried to order both, and didn't order bread.
I was hungry and had just come from a month in Germany and was ready for a change in food scenery, so I ate everything but the bread, and the seafood was delicious. It was fresh, tasted good, and wasn't too heavy so I thought "ok fine".
He kept pouring me wine even after I had reached half the bottle. He also asked if I wanted to accompany him to his hotel when he got off work at 9pm. I said no, which he apparently didn't like. I asked for my check and he poured me another glass of wine. He said "after you finish the wine". Well, I can handle my alcohol and if he's charging me $16 then fine. A guy selling roses came in and the server (manager I think, actually), bought me one. Asked if he could take me for a drink, I said no, then he asked where I was staying, I said nearby, he asked if I was with my boyfriend, I said I'm with a group but wanted to dine alone and read (which he kept interrupting).
I asked for my check at least three times. He finally brought it and had charged me $25 for the wine, $19 for the antipasti, $19.50 for the fish, and the total was $69. Not sure where that extra $5.50 came from, maybe the bread he brought without me ordering it and a "cover charge" I've seen at some other places here but is never told to you up front.
I waited for him to be out of sight then took off because it was past 9pm so he was apparently off work but still there and I was uncomfortable with the idea of him following me. Would never go back there as a single diner. And be very specific when you order and clarify that they understand you. Good...

Tucked away in the charming labyrinth of Venice's narrow streets, far from the bustling tourist traps, lies a restaurant that is nothing short of a culinary treasure. If you're searching for an authentic Venetian dining experience, look no further!
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and kindness that immediately made us feel at home. The owner’s friendliness truly sets this place apart, making every guest feel valued and special.
Now, let’s talk about the food! This restaurant makes its own pasta, and you can truly taste the difference. We indulged in the homemade parpadelle with duck meat in own white sauce—an absolute delight. It was more than just a meal; it was an experience! We were so enchanted that we returned the very next day for the same dish, it was that good! You can’t miss wine from local winery and apéros spritz which was delicious !
And don’t get me started on the desserts! The homemade limoncello is refreshingly delicious, and the tiramisu? Pure heaven! I've had many tiramisus before, but this one was undoubtedly the best I've ever tasted. So smooth and fluffy ! It's the perfect sweet note to conclude an unforgettable meal.
One of the standout features of this restaurant is their fair pricing. Unlike most spots in the busier areas that add hefty "tourist fees" to the bill, here you only pay for what you order. No surprises . It’s a nice touch that shows they care about their customers!
To top it all off, their business card even features a mini map of Venice, which is incredibly handy for navigating the winding streets.
If you're in Venice, treat yourself! This restaurant is a gem worth seeking out. You won’t just enjoy a meal; you’ll create memories that will last a lifetime....
Read moreI will start with the good things: the quality of the food was really good. Delicious pasta, meat, pizza and fish. If I would only rate the food, I roils have given 5 stars.. but now the bad things why I gave 3 stars: there is a lot of growing potential in the service. It took a lot of time for them to take our order and in general they were not so polite. They were overwhelmed by our big group and was difficult for the waiter to take the order. We ordered the menu of the day, and they did not tell us that there was no more fish, until it was time to have the fish dish.. we got to chose between salmon and calamari, both were delicious, but I found bad, that they did not tell us while we were ordering.. they should grow in order. If you want to eat delicious but don’t care to wait a lot and have a bad service, I recommend this place. Or maybe they improve the service by the time you go. With a better service, this would be a 5...
