Ristorante La Rivetta Venezia — Restaurant in Venice

oke, i dont know where to start... we had a few different dishes... i must admit that i liked the very friendly waiter from the beginning, he is not italian... we saw the prices, we ordered our food... the food arrived, and everything was disappointing, tasteless, and the portions were very small, only the pizza was normal size, but the lasagna, and the different types of pasta really small portions, and tasteless... the pizza had canned mushrooms we all took it off the side... our mistake we did not check the prices of our drinks, the price of the food was as on the menu, but the problem started, of course, with the bill... it came much higher than we expected... one part, as i said our mistake, the drink was extremely expensive, but the service, not the tip, the service €18.50?!?! after we paid, I asked the waiter on the way out about that 'servizio', and he said, tablecloth, paper napkins, bread and breadsticks, and we didn't ask for it, he didn't offer it to us, he just brought it, so we figured it was something like a complementary while we waited for the food, but no, €18.50 for forks, knives, napkins, tablecloth and one basket of bread and breadsticks that we didn't even ask for... well, we felt a little bitter, and in the end I wouldn't have written this review if the food had been good, but...

Terrible Service and Rude Staff – Avoid This Place!

I had an incredibly disappointing experience at Ristorante La Rivetta Venezia during my recent visit to Venice. From the moment we sat down, the waiter was shockingly hostile and unprofessional. Simple questions about the menu (like whether the portions were large or not, which is standard in any restaurant) were met with visible irritation. Instead of being welcoming, he made us feel like a burden.

Once the food arrived (which, by the way, was bland and lacked any real flavor), we tried to enjoy our dinner despite the negative atmosphere. But the waiter kept glaring at us for the first 10 minutes and then, bizarrely, came over multiple times within the span of 15 minutes to ask if we were "done eating" – even though the restaurant was practically empty, with just one other couple dining at the time. It felt like we were being rushed out for no reason.

When I finally asked if he wanted us to leave, he backed off, but the damage was done. The rude and inhospitable service ruined what was supposed to be a nice evening. I cannot stress enough how unwelcome we felt, and I would never return to this place. If you’re looking for a pleasant dining experience in Venice, avoid Ristorante La Rivetta Venezia at all costs. There are many better options...

We stopped here for some early dinner after walking around Venice. The lady who welcomed us was very friendly, we ordered the spaghetti with tomato sauce and it was tasty. However, once we'd asked for the bill we had to wait a long time until we actually received it, we had somewhere to be so went up to the man behind the bar to ask to pay. We were met with an instantly rude reply saying he would bring the bill to our table, we waited and he eventually brought it. After trying to pay with our MasterCard his machine clearly couldn't connect to the internet and he decided to blame us and was getting clearly frustrated about it and took it out on us. He then gave up saying we had to either use another card (which was not going to work as the machine had no connection) or pay with cash, in an unnecessarily rude way. We quickly paid with cash and left. We've worked in customer service all our lives and understand how frustrating and stressful it can get but when the staff allow themselves to get so worked up so easily over something so simple and then take it out on the customers there is clearly something wrong with the restaurant. I would suggest...
