This was one of our most amazing experiences in Venice!!! The owner is a wonderful spirit that adds to the ambience of the place. Records adorn the walls and ceiling and can be played on the old jukebox in the corner. The owner's singing and dancing around while making your latte shows the love and energy he gives in his work. The food was just as fabulous as our experience and we wish we could have stayed forever. Dancing to the old classics is highly recommend after a nice brunch. His friendly demeanor energized the entire space and everyone who came in to visir was infected by it. I can't speak highly enough about this little hidden gem! It is a MUST SEE if you are in Venice and want to experience and authentic brunch with an amazing atmosphere!!! We were sorry we missed him that evening singing with his friends in the nearby plaza...the loss was definitely ours. We will be back for sure for some of the best soul food our spirits could fund. Thanks for the memories and...
Read moreWe ate a very late lunch here today. I had the last spaghetti carbonara of the day. It was VERY good. Then we had some pastries, which were also excellent. The proprietoress was very helpful, speaks English very well, made our lunch very pleasant for us. I would definitely eat there again if I was in the area. I wish I could be there tomorrow to try the lasagna, but we probably won't be able to make it, unfortunately. The pastries are FAR above average. That was the best, biggest meringue I ever had in my life! YUM! My husband had a special fisherman's bread/sweet bun: almond, chocolate chips, and dried fruits.... excellent! We bought another one to take back to our dwelling. This is a little hole-in-the-wall, very authentic place. Glad we found it! I would eat there...
Read moreAn informal and non-pretentious little café on a street corner with a slight "retro" flair thanks to vinyl record cases hanging from the walls and a jukebox. A fair number of warm dishes (e.g. pasta&lasagna) are served, including a couple of vegetarian options. The hot drinks taste good and there is a large variety of small pastries. The staff is extremely friendly. The café in itself is not the cleanest and may feel a tad stuffy if the doors are closed due to cooler weather. The furniture and the decoration look slightly disheveled, the view is of the average-looking narrow street on both sides. Would recommend to those who need a relatively low-budget coffee break from the mob of tourists and aren't looking for a top-notch, squeaky clean and overly stylish...
