An AWESOME spa!

Quite authentic Beppu style public bath. This is a facility for local residents and is by no means a tourist attraction not only for foreigners but also for Japanese who aren't living in Beppu. If you don't know how to bath of the Beppu habit quite well, avoid this place for the locals sake!

Open the door, just bath! No dressing room at all. So, you need to know how to take a bath in Beppu. Bring towels and soap.

Take off your shoes, put your clothes into the wooden box, get a bucket, wash your body and experience the great bath. NEVER sit on the edge of the bath, because people rest their heads while they are relaxing in the bath.

Excellent local onsen, entrance ¥100, you need to bring your own towel and shampoos. Friendly staff, onsen stamp at the reception where you pay. No lockers but you can see your stuff while bathing. 2509訪問 見た目が素敵 建物の縁側に腰掛けてくつろげます 近所っぽい年配の人が棒アイス食べてるのが絵になる 傘に包まれた石製の机や椅子もあるし憩いの場って感じです。 車で通りかかる度にTHE温泉地の風景と思っておりました、他にも今まで目の端でよく見てなかったけど水飲み場や石碑があったりと、大きくない施設スペースをフル活用しています 建物内は交差点の角だし見た目通りこじんまりとしています 番台すぐ横から男湯へ2段の階段でくだり入ると、靴はどこまで…と一瞬悩むけど、棚の下。 脱衣所は棚を端に横細長く、昔ながらの湯船を見下ろす構造。 湯船も年代物で、湯の出処を右に更に階段をくだりたどりつく。 1つだけの熱湯から見上げる天井の高さや3方から光差し込む曇りガラス、年代物の大きな扇風機の回る音が日常からレトロ世界にいるような気分に 久しぶりに満足の行く熱さ、茹でられるの大好き 湯船の中に熱い湯の出てるパイプ口があるので気をつけましょう。 星を減らした理由…シャワーは2基別々の壁沿いに設置、1基はプッシュ式勢いつえー、もう1基は昔ながらの回すタイプ…両方とも水しか出ない…から 番台さんはにこやかな女性の方で、聞くと親切に答えてくれました。 風呂上がりは前述の縁側で一休み、晴れててよかった 由来が面白い温泉…一夜温泉だからこじんまりなのか…逆だっけ? 石碑…たぶん昔市役所で友好都市提携の写真見たことあった...
