The best traditional snack I've ever tasted. I have been sampling food in places I've been to. Even small stalls that are around temples and shrines in Japan. But this hidden snack shop along the Kamakura street going to the Kotoku-in Buddha is a very tasty discovery. The shop is not so visible because of the spiral stairway blocking its view. It is manned by an old man who makes your dessert as you order. We got the 2 kinds of warabimochi- green tea and kinako /sesame. He gave us some of the other snacks for tasting- daifuku mochi and cups of green tea for free. They were all really good that we had to bring some back. I hope you can drop by and be excited as I was.

Best mochi I've had in Japan. The store owner opened the shop early for us, and gave us a free dango as service. Amazing service, and great quality, the dango was so soft and flavourful.

Back sesame ¥150 + mitarashi dango ¥120. Tasty - better than the dango sticks we had on the busier Kamakura komachi st.
