From Osaka, I took a Shinkansen Train and two local trains and a bus ride just to reached Kurashiki. It took me more than 3 hours to get there. The store was opened and I was excited to have modifications done with my journals. Only to find out that the journals have to be bought in the store to avail of the modifications. They will give you a paper to specify what modifications and designs you want in your in-store bought journal. Modified journals will be mailed to your hotel or international address. I bought my journals at a Hands store cos the colours I like were available in that store and there was a tax refund too. TSL does not offer tax refund. Im scoring it 4 because this nice lady Saki was patient and understanding enough with my predicament and frustration. She just accommodated my last request of putting a yellow metal clasp on two journals. She went out of her way to turn around my situation into a pleasant experience. It was a worthwhile visit to the store even if it took me more than 6 hrs travel from Osaka to Kurashiki and vice versa. The store had unique Kurashiki items and stamps. Kurashiki itself is a beautiful and quaint place. More power to your company!!! Thank you so much for making a...
Read moreVery frustrating experience. Traveled early from Osaka to arrive before opening, however at 10 the store never opened. (This was a non-holiday Thursday). Waited for a bit, others also showed up visibly frustrated the shop was closed. Left after fifteen minutes and returned every hour for the next few hours, called the number, visited the other shop (also closed), and attempted to reach out to the Instagram. No responses, nothing shown at the shop as to why it was closed or when it will reopen. Many people travel just to visit here and it's very disappointing when there is no explanation or info that it will be closed or when it will reopen. So word of warning: be very very sure the shop will be open if you plan to...
Read moreA well tucked away and must visit store especially for Traveler's Notebook users. The lower floor sells TSL products, while the upper floor sells TN products. The TSL products here are cheaper compared to what you can buy from outside Japan. You can buy and customise TN notebook here. They do not provide customisation service for your existing notebook, maybe due to avoid accidental damage during the customisation process. Be sure to get TSL Kurashiki limited items such as their shirts, notebook charm, TN refills, and stamps (you need to ask for this). Love the fact they have a seating area on upper floor for you to sit down and stamp. Definitely will be back next time to customise...
