I recently had the pleasure of dining at this exceptional Japanese restaurant, and the experience exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere transported me straight to Japan—elegant, calm, and beautifully designed. The staff was welcoming, attentive, and knowledgeable, adding a warm personal touch to the evening. Each dish was a masterpiece of flavor and presentation, prepared with precision and care.
I was especially impressed by the freshness of the ingredients and the authenticity of the recipes, which truly reflected the essence of Japanese cuisine. The soup was delicate and balanced, the sashimi melted in my mouth, and the grilled tuna were full of depth. Even the soba was perfectly cooked—a detail that shows their commitment to quality.
It’s clear that the chefs are passionate about their craft, and every bite told a story. This wasn’t just a meal, it was a cultural experience. I will absolutely return and recommend this place to anyone who wants a true...
Read moreCame here last year with a not so hungry stomach (bad idea) as we had a late breakfast but needed something to hold us until dinner. We had no expectations and didn’t know what this small hidden gem had to offer—it turned out to be one of the most satisfying meals we had while in Japan! The noodles were made just perfectly al dente & flavorful…the steak was soOO yummy—flavorful, made medium rare as requested and the marble ration was right for us (we wouldn’t be able to handle too much A5 steaks as the fat ration may be a bit too much for us to consume in larger quantities. We were so pleased with our meal and though we were not hungry to become with, we ate EVERYTHING! Would look for a chance to come & highly recommend this lovely gem!

Read moreAfter a long day of exploring Gion, I was ready to eat. Unfortunately, I did not plan any reservations and all the restaurants had super long lines… After almost giving up, and going to the nearest 7/11… I found Masaichi, right off the beaten path. The place was cash only, so ironically, I did end up going to 7/11, but not to get food, but rather Yen instead. After withdrawing money, I sprinted back to the restaurant, hoping the crowd didn’t discover this place yet. To my luck, there was no wait and we were seated quickly. The interior was super cozy and felt like you were in someone’s house. The waiter was so polite and kind. But the highlight was the food! Each dish was an explosion of flavor. My taste buds have never tasted something so delicious before. I ordered the tuna sushi special combo and it was divine. This was definitely one of the best places I’ve eaten on my trip to Kyoto, and even Japan overall. Highly recommend!!! Bring...
