A local restaurant which is famous for udon and chicken tempura. English menu available. We ordered Kamatama udon, cold udon with dipping sauce, chicken tempura and orange soda. Kamata udon was spectacular with perfect combination of chewy udon and soy sauce broth. Raw egg on top makes udon silky and turns into half cooked egg sauce in the end. This is my favourite dish. Cold udon with dipping sauce is also nice. Chicken tempura is crispy on outside, extremely tender and juicy inside. It is kind of blend for just tasting tempura alone, but they offer salt / pepper on the side. I recommend to eat with salt which you can taste the flavour of chicken. Orange soda is not Fanta, instead, they serve us with jar of soda water and fresh orange, kinda fun when you make your own. Atmosphere is relaxing, full of locals grabbing a drink after work. The owner or staff were super friendly. I'll definitely take a detour next...
Read moreAbsolutely the best udon noodles I have had in Japan in 10 years. Hand made, so we waited maybe 30mins for the udon maybe a little less. My partner had tamago and I had kamon (duck). Both completely different with the same udon.
The local katsuo sashimi also melted in our mouths despite being thick slices.
Quaint atmosphere, polite efficient staff. It's a gem.
