Before enrolling, please read: It has been nearly a year since completing my online foundations cohort. I am writing a review now because recently I have been learning how to code with a tutor, and I am again realizing how little Code Chrysalis laid the foundations for my success in coding.
We had multiple teachers in a week. They would pick up where the last teacher left off, but it wasn’t a smooth transition despite teaching from the same slides. At times, it seemed like teaching online wasn't their primary focus, and that lack of full immersion can affect the quality of the lessons. I was taught in a tone where I had to already know the basis of code—which is not fit for a foundations class. A few of the students already knew another coding language. This is both beneficial and a barrier. Although it encourages you to do better, it sets the premise that the class has a general understanding of code for each new teacher that arrived. If you are a COMPLETE beginner, it can be difficult to keep up. I wish someone would have explained the nature of coding, syntax, and VSCODE. Coding is like penmanship. Each teacher may write differently based on their critical thinking skills etc. Personally, I felt thrown in to figure that out. You could tell that someone else created the PowerPoint slides because the humor and organization did not match the teachers’, and they often missed points. Teaching from someone else’s slides is not the concern, the lack of cohesion from the teachers is the concern.
This review isn’t meant to bash, it is to bring awareness. The staff member that enrolled me was very kind. They were accommodating to one of my requests. Code Chrysalis has much potential, therefore, I gently recommend there be more structure and training in the how the curriculum...

I thought good about these guys but apparently, I was mistaken ! BTW, I have had tons of experience working in Hitech in Canada and have seen how people, particularly women, struggle to code, become really good and blossom!
Remember, you have to do all the installation. If you don’t then you will be chucked out. They will not give you any options but also withhold the whole amount, even though they asked you to leave ! So, funny that when I did MBA at uni of Toronto, the help desk got our laptop and installed the required software. For codechrysalis, it would have taken 10 minutes per student!
So, yea not a good experience at all ! May be if some of the folks (as couple others have mentioned)...

There was no hybrid working so you can’t get used to working remote or in person, you have to pick one and stick with it.
It’s very school like, which is weird.
It was very California culture which is great if you grew up with that but it was kinda hard to adapt to.
I didn’t feel like it was with the money in the end.
I’ve lost contact with them, and anyone from the course. There’s an online slack group after you graduate but I can’t login anymore, which made it hard to share jobs with new grads so I just gave up Sharing.
The people were nice but staff and students change so I can only base it on how I felt about...
