Soba Tajima — Local services in Tokyo

Went there because we saw the good reviews, a lot of locals are going there but as someone who is a tourist, that was my first time experiencing somehow an unfriendly atmosphere. We didn’t speak japanese but tried our best to communicate with google translator. Once we sat down we were ignored for a long time. No menu not even served with tea while other tables that went in (who were locals) were served right away. This little location is really beautiful and the quality of the soba is just as wonderful. My Japanese friend took me here because it’s her favourite soba place in Tokyo, and I can totally see why. The noodles are carefully and expertly made and the selection of items to form your courses is also so thoughtfully created. The sesame tofu was the best I’ve had and the Japanese eggplant was truly excellent. They prepared dipping sauces for the cold soba for me without dashi as I am vegan and were very helpful in guiding me on what I could or couldn’t order. Will...
