TSUTAYA Yokohama Minatomirai — Local services in Yokohama

I was traveling in Japan and stumbled upon Tsutaya Books, Cafe, and store. Despite some of the reviews here, I think this place is really a gem. Back in the states, Barnes and Nobles, Borders, and most bookstores are rare, so to have a physical bookstore where you can shop around do some fun reading, and shop gifts for others is so great. Starbucks is inside and it's a huge space with lots of tables and chairs. I am so glad I found it. Besides books, they have gifts, toys, grocery bags you can purchase to re-use, etc. I love this place and it's quiet. They have self check out, unfortunately I don't think they have it in English, but there was a cashier to help you out. I would highly recommend this place if you are in the area to look for a place to have coffee, do some reading, or bring your laptop to do some work. Tsutaya is a book/media store, but people are mostly here for the cafe section which is more than half of the building.

This is where everyone hangs out to study, work, and eat. Minato Mirai Station, Exit #1 then walk across the street.
