Stayed for two nights and it was really relaxing. We booked a room with the outdoor bath attached to it. It was a huge unit with a bedroom and a separate dining area. A room like this would have cost more than 25,000 yen per person per night in onsen towns like Hakone for example but it was reasonably priced in this ryokan. ||Meals are served in the room so it was convenient. All the meals were delicious and wonderful and the chef did a very excellent job in presenting each course aesthetically. We enjoyed all the meals. Though none of the staff could speak English, it wasn’t a problem for us as we could use Google|Translate whenever we needed to communicate with them. ||The ryokan is less than ten minutes’ walk from the Yufuin train station so it is very convenient. There was a supermarket (by Aeon) very close by and we bought very sweet strawberries and reasonably priced snacks there. Dinner has to served at 6 pm so be sure to let the staff know if you are arriving late. We booked our train seats well in advance on JR Kyushu’s website and it was worthwhile paying for them as the trains to Yufuin from Hakata were always very full especially those scenic trains with four train cars only. We also took a day trip to Beppu since it was only one hour by train from Yufuin. Overall a very relaxing stay. Kudos to the wonderful...
Read moreThe hotel is about 8~10 minutes walk from the train station, I think it's very convenient. We arrived at 11am that day, so we leave our luggage at the counter first.
We check-in at around 4pm, the staff was very enthusiastic, took us to room 301 and introduced us in detail, although their English was not very good, we were able to communicate with them through Google Translate.
Room 301 has a private open-air bath (hot spring), which is the reason I chose this room~ I also chose Breakfast & dinner included option, and I think the price is very reasonable. The staff will come into the room to serve the dinner around 6. Dinner is freshly prepared one by one, after the appetizers are served, the staff will leave the room and wait for a while before serving the second course. The staff do their best to introduce the food, we enjoy our meals comfortably and luxuriously!
Next morning, the staff will bring breakfast to the room for us. After checking out, the staff take photos for us at the hotel entrance. It was a relaxing stay for me and I am willing to introduce OYADO URAKU to all...
Read moreWe had a lovely stay at Oyado Uraku. It is a bit further away from the main shopping district (~20min walk), but very close to Aeon/Daiso and train station.
We've stayed in 3 different onsen hotels during our trip, and this one was not only the cheapest, but by far the best experience. The food was outstanding, absolutely delicious and also impeccably presented.
The people who worked there were brilliant. They emailed us prior to let us know that they didn't speak english but will try their best which I thought was very adorable. When we were there, they were relieved that I spoke a bit of japanese and were very friendly and made conversations with us, recommending places to go etc. They were also offering to take photos for us without prompting. They also complimented on my gents in my group for having manners better than Japanese men!
Overall it gave very good vibes and I felt very welcomed and had a...
