Asha Bistro — Restaurant in Ukunda ward

Perfect spontaneous date with my wife! My wife and I chanced upon Asha Bistro during an evening walk on the beach. We were actually looking for a path through to the main road to get home but once we saw the beautiful layout of the restaurant we had to take a closer look at the menu. We started by asking for some takeout pizza for our kids watching Netflix back at our AirBnb. But after enjoying the warm sea breeze, an amazing ocean view and an excellent G&T and Mojito on their beach-side couches we realized we had to turn this into a proper date. I ran the kids pizza home via tuk tuk and was back to enjoy a fantastic spontaneous dinner with my date. She enjoyed the cashew chicken and I stuck with my bacon, mushroom and pineapple pizza, which I’d originally ordered as takeout. The kitchen kindly kept it warm while I sorted out the kids. Absolutely Exceptional Stay in Diani!

From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the warm hospitality and stunning surroundings of this hotel. Nestled right on the pristine white sands of Diani Beach, the location is unbeatable — tranquil, private, and picture-perfect.

The rooms were spacious, immaculately clean, and beautifully designed with a touch of coastal elegance. We especially loved waking up to the sound of the ocean and enjoying our morning coffee on the balcony with a breathtaking view.

The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely committed to making our stay memorable. Every request was met with a smile, and they went out of their way to ensure we felt at home.

The food was delicious — fresh seafood, flavorful local dishes, and a variety of options to suit every palate. The cocktails by the pool were the perfect way to unwind in the afternoon.

Asha bistro is truely amazing! They have a beautiful terrace overlooking the beach and sea and the drinks are nice: I especially like the fruit juices and strawberry milkshake, or just a cold beer on a sunny day whilest you enjoy the view.

The staff and owner are very friendly too.

But most importantly: the food is absolutely delicious! My friends couldn't stop mentioning how good the ginger crab was (I still need to try for myself), but honestly, everything I've eaten here was delicious: bbq'ed lobster, shrimps and beef; shrimp curry; and most of all: the 'Asha fish fillet'! It's in these simple dishes (perfectly grilled snapper, spinach, mashed potatoes and butter sauce) that the true quality of your ingredients and the expertise of your kitchen staff can be noticed because there are no fancy ingredients to 'hide behind'.
