Stops and Attractions

Vaduz Castle: One of the key highlights is the view of Vaduz Castle, the residence of the royal family. While the castle itself is not open to the public, the vantage point from the train provides a majestic view that’s perfect for photos.

City Center: The train stops near the city center, allowing passengers to disembark and explore the museums, cafes, and shops. This stop is ideal for those looking to dive deeper into the local culture and enjoy some leisure time in the heart of Vaduz.

Liechtenstein is a small country situated in the Alps, between Switzerland and Austria. Actually its a principality, that's what we learned. We visited its capital Vaduz on our Europe trip in 2014. Did some shopping in Vaduz's city center and strolled around. Then we hopped on to the Citytrain. Which is a very beautiful bright colored small train with 2 or 3 cars. It took around Vaduz and showed us the important places with live commentary giving information. We were surprised to hear the commentary in our mother tongue Hindi. As it was drizzling outside we could enjoy the city sights from the cozy city train. The ride is about some 45 minutes. The station also has clean toilets for tourists. We enjoyed the ride very much.👌🏼👍🏻

A definite must-visit attraction in Vaduz, as the train brings you to the areas surrounding the capital that you otherwise would not visit. It takes you through the residential area, the Red House and the further stadium areas, while providing commentary in different languages through headphones. The route itself is also quite scenic, giving you different glimpses of the life in Vaduz and providing a brief background to them. If you like a live crash course to life in Vaduz and Liechtenstein, this train provides that. The prices costs about CHF11 for adults, but the price is definitely worth it for the 35 minute ride. Do however, to check for the tour timing, as it may vary, before purchasing your ticket at the counter.
