Tequila's Sunrise Bar & Grill — Local services in Baja California Sur

This is what can be called a Tourist Trap, well located in front of Hotel California . Cash only Bar, they have several signs all over the place to make sure you don't forget , also , illegally, their prices DO NOT Include Tax and the added on top of the bill, in Mexico ( Baja included) ALL PRICES IN RESTAURANT MUST REFLECT AND INCLUDE THE TAX ,not in this case they over charge 16%( Sixteen percent) and on top of that if you add tip( let's say another 15%,which in Mexico is customary, you end up with a 31%over the original price published in the menu, also they won't tell you what Tequila they are serving in a Margarita, except it's 100%Agave , if you choose to believe this , the 12usdlls Margarita it's generous . OK, the Hotel California is probably a must see, at least once, when visiting Todos Santos. But after escaping the kitsch and the crowds there, take a look across the street for a real gem. In spite of the name, Tequila's Sunrize specializes in and has gained a well-deserved reputation for truly outstanding margaritas. But that's just the beginning. They take justifiable pride in their dishes and the organic, locally-sourced ingredients they use in their delicious dishes. I went to Tequila Sunrise for lunch with my mom and my aunt May 31, 2025. We sat outside and had menus for about 30 seconds before our server asked our orders. We each ordered a quesadilla, as well as chips and salsa to share. Our 3 quesadillas and 1 appetizer cost $71USD. We were relieved we hadn’t ordered any drinks or else we would not have had enough money to pay. After getting home and looking at photos of the menu online, it seems the quesadillas should have only cost about $10USD. Not sure how or why our bill came to $71USD.
