Great place. Oyster Heaven!!!! Manager Alfonso has the right attitude, if something isn’t right, he makes sure he tries until is perfect!! Good attitude, great service and the food was delicious. Many restaurants should learn from this place, a restaurant is a place where people come to enjoy themselves, not a place for employees to bring their ego. Very refreshing to find 100% service. I will recommend this place and wish them a good long run. Bravo!!!
I was back a week later. Had my usual Oysters Rockefeller and they were perfect, crispy top, with Swiss chard instead of spinach, and a touch of finely chopped bacon on top and parmigiano, and the Crudo which is always super fresh and very delicate. The staff is very friendly, helpful and trained (very unusual) to make sure you are having a good experience. Congratulations for putting the effort in training each and everyone at Oystera, hard to find another place that puts so much attention to detail in the area. Alfonso has a good approach and a good example to the staff, if everyone is looking up to him to learn, then this place will continue to be very successful. By the way, this is the only place in Todos Santos that has a great variety of local oysters and clams. I’ve tried for the first time the Almeja Roja and Ostion de San Blas, I recommend both!. I am already looking forward to go back and try something different, but, once I get there I always end up ordering the same because it is just so good!! Keep up the good work!!
Back for the third time, can’t keep myself away for too long. Service, service, service!! I was lucky to get a tasting of different local oysters, so different and so good. Couldn’t make my mind as to which was my favourite, Im between the San Blas, Sol Azul y...
Read morewhat started with the need for a cold brew, ended with this review and a lasting memory of a place that we'd wish that we'd been to more during our trip to Todos Santos. The setting is gorgeous, and the galleries inside showcase some spectacular pieces. I purchased some lovely organic oil in the lobby on a Saturday, from a popup store. The host, upon welcoming us, asked if we had any allergies, and then led inside to fabulous bar-side corner seats, where we could fully take in the action of the servers, bartenders, and the guests. The massive doors to the back take our breath away and the solid structure should withstand any tropical storms with that amazing roof and beams . The washrooms outback were spotless and the setting incredibly beautiful with colourful flowers against the backdrop of the leftover sugar mill structure from days gone by. very well done. we started with beer, but it wasn't long before Poncho, introduced himself as the manager, and began shucking a couple of the biggest oysters we'd ever seen, locally farmed from The Baja. Of course on the house. Very impressive. to this, he added a shot each of Mezcal, which was the perfect accompaniment. We decided let's eat (!) ordered 2 house favourites and WOW, so delicious. Cooked oysters on the shell, and the curly crisps which were a mix of squid and octopus - calamari style. So delicious. To top it off, when learning we were Canadian, Poncho shared with us that he had been to Oakville Ontario as a young exchange student so that helped bring us closer, as he introduced us to his son, and reminisced about days gone by. We highly...
Read moreWe stopped here on our way to Lapaz. This started out as an amazing experience but something happened and it left us feeling perplexed and disappointed. When we arrived we were given a lot of attention and the manager said we could even go check out the grounds and take some pictures and the appetizers came out fairly quickly. As we finished our appetizers that same manager came and asked us if we wanted dessert or coffee. We said we still had main courses coming. He seemed surprised. We sat there waiting for over an hour for our main courses. The server came and said that the order didn’t go through and it would be 5 more minutes. We were still hungry and had already waited that long so we decided to wait the 5 minutes. After this is when it really changed. We felt ignored and dismissed. The manager that had been so attentive was nowhere to be found, although he was walking by but never came back to our table. We were made to feel as if we had done something wrong. When we were leaving we asked if we could see the grounds like the manager had mentioned. The server said no one was allowed in that area even though we saw people walking around there when we arrived. There was no one who came to acknowledge how long we waited for our food or to apologize. It was a very confusing experience because it was different from when we arrived. We still aren’t sure what happened. It really is beautiful and the food was good if pricey but I’m not sure we will return. We drive through here a lot on our way to Lapaz but may look for something...
