Unsafe, Overpriced, and Unpleasant Experience – Avoid!

I visited MUM Nightclub in Cancún yesterday with a friend and paid $30 just to get in. Inside, there were only two toilets, one completely locked, and the other without a lock. When I used the working toilet, there was a man inside selling drugs. He asked if I wanted to buy cocaine; I said no. I sat down, and he suddenly opened the door, accused me of using cocaine, and tried to search my pockets. I felt threatened and thought he was trying to rob me.

He then called security, who searched me inside the toilet. I had no drugs and had done nothing wrong. The man later said “sorry,” but the security just dismissed it, saying he was “crazy.” No action was taken against him.

When buying drinks for me and my friend, they tried to charge me double the price on the menu. Only after another tourist from Argentina stepped in was the price corrected ,cut in half from what they tried to charge me.

This place felt unsafe, unprofessional, and dishonest. It’s shocking that someone selling drugs is allowed to stay in the toilet at all times. If you go to the toilet here, you’d better go with your group for safety. Overall, this was an unpleasant and dangerous experience, and I will...

Very happy we found this place, had an amazing time, staying till 5am. If somebody complaining about club being empty they didn’t stay long enough , it gets packed around 1-2am and party continues after 3am upstairs in vip section. Bartender was awesome and made amazing drinks, ended up drinking 10+ drinks with my wife and paid what we would pay for 4-5 drinks in the club back in Florida..Music was exactly what we like, very European style. Spent lots of money previously going to coco bongo and similar tourist shows but will always come back to Mun when visiting Cancun next time, atmosphere was great and total vibe...

La semana previa al evento había mucha emoción porque anunciaron que el DJ invitado sería increíble. Sin embargo, lo que vivimos esa noche fue una gran decepción. Para empezar, el DJ invitado, que era la razón principal por la que fui y por la que muchos otros fueron, solo tocó a lo mucho durante una hora y media antes de que lo sacaran del escenario sin explicación. En su lugar, pusieron al DJ residente, que honestamente, no era nada bueno. La música perdió toda la chispa y el ambiente se vino abajo. El servicio tampoco ayudó a mejorar la noche. Los meseros tardaron una eternidad en traernos nuestras bebidas y cuando al fin llegaron, los vasos estaban sucios y los agarraban de la parte de arriba, lo cual es súper antihigiénico. Algunas botellas llegaron ya abiertas, algo que nunca debería pasar, razón suficiente para no volver. Para colmo, intentaron cobrarnos precios diferentes por las bebidas a los que estábamos en la misma mesa y nos metieron una propina del 25% sin preguntarnos. Además, aunque les dijimos que no queríamos que nos sirvieran más, los meseros seguían llenando los vasos sin permiso. La falta de comunicación entre ellos y con nosotros fue evidente y muy frustrante. El DJ principal no volvió a tocar en toda la noche, lo que fue un golpe más para una fiesta que prometía mucho y no cumplió nada. Entre la música decepcionante, el mal servicio y los intentos de cobrarnos de más, la experiencia fue pésima. Es una lástima ya que el staff se veía entusiasmado por el evento y su actitud en sí fue buena pero un contraste tan fuerte en la ejecución del proyecto evento es terrible.
