Parole Cancun | Italian Restaurant — Restaurant in Cancún

It was our last night in Cancun and unfortunately we didn’t have a great experience at Parole for a few reasons. The menu on the website was very different than the menu available. I’m a particular veg eater and none of the vegetarian options I planned to order were on the menu. The waiters were a bit too apathetic and said we could leave if we didn’t want to eat there. I asked in many different ways if they could accommodate us in other ways but they simply said no. We have a small child so we were left with no choice but to stay since it would get late if we went elsewhere. In terms of food, the eggplant and wagyu meatballs were done well. However we ordered a pasta that is typically done table side in the Parmesan wheel which did not happen. When they brought it was very cold and dry and had no sauce. This could be because it wasn’t served table side with the wheel but I’m just assuming. In terms of drinks, they were pretty weak (not much liquor) and one of them was not our taste but recommended by our waiter. In terms of service, although they had alot of wait staff, which helped, they seemed too occupied. There was a company event happening the same night that took over the restaurant and ambience. It was super loud and many company announcements. I would recommend the restaurant close to the public for these types of events since they can’t seem to provide the same level of service and the ambience was ruined for us. Unfortunately we will never go to this restaurant again. What was good: the view! stunning view of the lagoon, restaurant design, presentation of dishes, chef sings (over the soundtrack) for those who have a birthday, appetizers are excellent (duck salad, Burrata), Chianti wine - all 10 out of 10). What was terrible: the New York strip steak is a disaster, we ordered medium rare, the roasting was formally done correctly, but the steak was loose, like porridge, did not cut, no taste of meat, we ordered a rack of lamb and the situation is similar, the meat is more like boiled not fried and not cut. The worst was the carbonara pasta. They brought a lump of dough. I am not exaggerating. Just a sticky almost cold piece of pasta. We asked to be warmed up but it didn't help. All three dishes I would rate literally 1 out of 10. One could forgive failing all three hot courses for the amazing view, but the problem is that it all cost USD450.00! Esagerato come prezzi anche se fanno bene per tenere una certa clientela, ma quando vendi a certe cifre poi devi offrire personale all altezza di quelle cifre, non ragazzine impreparate su domande tecniche di preparazione bevande che ti vogliono vendere extra o chi ti chiude il conto, lo stesso che spingeva queste statuine a proporci extra a prezzi non in sintonia che si permette di suggerirti lui la mancia da inserire.... Il kitsch del kitsch Per entrare richiedono abito lungo, il locale e molto bello, immerso nella laguna. La carta dei vini e molto ampia e ben fornita, il menu alla carta idem. I piatti da noi selezionati (approposito dove era il gorgonzola).. Un antipasto di formaggi e 3 fettine di prosciutto crudo tagliato spesso e non bene disteso nel piatto non alla altezza del locale e prezzo, il grana erano cubetti che ci fanno pensare delle confezioni sottovuoto tipo quelle che si servono in aereo, il gorgonzola era blue cheese o qualche cosa di simile, acerbo e porzione di un cucchiaino, mentre le verdure grigliate e olive erano gradevoli. Il cestino del pane, originale e gradevole peccato che era stato preparato probabilmemte alla mattina ed aveva perso un minimo di fragranza, idem la pizza, ma erano buoni, soffici e saporiti.. Ottimi i grissini. Olio di oliva per condire era spagnolo, non italiano....... I rigatoni, non e la prima volta che mi imbatto in questa pasta qui in Messico, purtroppo non tiene la cottura ed anche se e al dente si sfalda, ma con un sugo semplice di pomodoro con la giusta acidita. Il pesce alla griglia con olive era insapore e leggermente troppo cotto, non e colpa della cucina, succede. Il gelato non e artigianale. Per noi Le note dolenti, erano il viavai incomprensibile di personale attorno a noi su un parque di legno rumoroso, che innervosiva e rovinava atmosfera della vista laguna; mai visto cosi tanto personale in un ristorante sopratutto che non faceva nulla se non continuare a muoversi da una parte all altra del locale ridendo e chiaccherando e innervosendoti per il muoversi del pavimento e del tuo tavolo in una sala con solo 2 tavoli occupati. Bravissimo il camieriere che ci ha seguito tutta la sera, peccato che gli altri suoi colleghi non coordinati con lui e da un responsabile di sala non all altezza del ristorante ed i suoi prezzi, ogni 2 secondi ripetevano la stessa domanda da lui posta. In conclusione, la cucina.... Tanto fumo ma poca sostanza.... Ricorda i classici ristoranti discoteche della Costa Smeralda o Versilia dove la fa' da padrona il kitch e non la qualita del prodotto con contorno di personale insipido e sopratutto inesperto, dove ti senti come il classico bancomat da spennare e non cliente da essere coccolato che ritornera' per la cucina e non per...
