Buckle in It took us 30 minutes each way and a $130USD round trip cab We were so excited for the food! Even staying at a 5 star the food never seems to be that great. However, I can confidently say the resort food had more flavour than the food at Bombay Cancun. First when we arrived we were told we had no reservation. My sister pulled up the confirmation on her phone, the ladies at the front proceeded to tell us the area in the restaurant we booked for is closed. This made no sense as we went through the Bombay Cancun site which took us to open table to book. They only agreed to seat us after my sister showed the reservation went through and was confirmed. When we were seated our waiter walked us through the menu etc. He also advised us to order as soon as we decided as the food takes time to come out. We ordered our starters first and a few minutes later our mains. Starters: Mexican Behl & Classic Gol Gappas When the starters finally arrived the Bhel was super soggy and fell apart as we tried to lift it. Next the Gol gappas, they were so thick, like thick thick, very odd texture and not so great taste. The gol gappas pani was super sweet, not tart or tangy like it usually is. The pani in 1 shot glass was not filled enough, it was barely enough pani to fill 2 gol gappas. It took more than 40 minutes after our starters for our mains to come out. Mains: Amritsari fish tacos, paneer tacos & aloo kulcha. Neither of the tacos had any flavour! They were super bland, all we could taste was the cabbage topping on the paneer tacos. The fish was flavourless, should not be classified as amritsari fish. Aloo kulcha was very salty, like double salted. Due to the wait time of the food our waiter did bring us complimentary desserts which were probably the best tasting thing we had. A cheesecake and a carrot cheesecake.
If we could give separate ratings Waiter 5 stars -he was super nice and attentive Venue 5 stars -the place looked amazing Vibe/Music 5 stars -loved the mix of music Drinks 5 stars- we ordered the Bengali tiger and Bombay passion, both were delicious
The wait time and the lack of flavourful food definitely bring the rating down. Honestly not worth it. If you just want to do drinks and vibe then maybe.

Hi Betzave, I’ve taken some time before reaching out because, truthfully, I left your restaurant extremely disappointed—and I didn’t want to write this in the heat of the moment. However, I feel it’s important you understand how things unfolded, especially given the trust I placed in you and your recommendations. From the beginning, I repeatedly asked if there would be entertainment on Thursday night and specifically clarified whether it would be the same caliber as a Friday or Saturday. You assured me it would be. What we got was one person playing bongos—that’s a far cry from what is advertised on your Instagram and completely misrepresented what to expect. I also asked in every message whether there would be both vegan and gluten-free options available, and you confirmed there would be. When we arrived, there were no suitable main dinner options for those with dietary restrictions. That’s incredibly frustrating, especially when I’d gone out of my way to confirm this multiple times. To make matters worse, it was my birthday—and I didn’t even receive my main course until everyone else had already finished eating. Multiple people had to follow up with staff to ask where my food was. I felt like an afterthought at my own celebration. And finally, I trusted your recommendation for a photographer. You told me this was the person who handles all your restaurant’s photography, so I assumed he’d be familiar with the space and vibe. Instead, he was cold, rude to my guests, and required me to give him full direction—which completely defeated the purpose. He didn’t take a single good photo of me or my friends, and I regret hiring him. As someone who is Indian and actively tries to support South Asian-owned businesses, I truly wanted to love this experience and thought your restaurant had the potential to rival places like Rosa Negra. Instead, I left hurt, disappointed, and with my 40th birthday celebration ruined. I hope you take this feedback seriously—for the sake of future guests who are trusting you with their special...
Read moreThe only good feature of this restaurant is its eye-catching decor, which promises a memorable dining experience but fails to deliver. Beyond the aesthetics, the reality is a great letdown.
Service: Neglectful and Biased: the service is abysmal, particularly for small groups. The staff prioritizes large parties, leaving smaller tables neglected. During our visit, servers were preoccupied with dancing for cake-cutting ceremonies for bigger groups, likely chasing tips. For small groups like ours, the wait times were excruciatingly slow, with little attention from the staff.
We visited this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary, hoping for a special evening. We ordered Galouti kebabs, a selection of main courses (including dal and butter chicken), and assorted breads. After a frustrating 45-minute wait, we received main course but with cold kebabs. The breads, which should have complemented the meal, were nowhere in sight. By the time the breads finally arrived, even the main course had gone cold, rendering it nearly inedible.
When we raised concerns about the cold food, the staff’s response was dismissive, repeatedly directing us to “talk to the manager.” A series of managers appeared, each offering no resolution, leaving us feeling ignored and undervalued.
Food Quality: Inauthentic and Subpar: the cuisine was another disappointment. Marketed as Indian, the food lacked the authenticity and depth expected by those familiar with Indian flavors. The spices felt unbalanced, suggesting the kitchen may not be led by chefs well-versed in Indian culinary traditions.
The So-Called “Show”: The restaurant touts “dinner with a show,” but the “show” consisted of a man playing an odd drum instrument and a brief five-minute rope performance by a woman. For those accustomed to dinner shows, this felt like a half-hearted effort. People who are writing great show in the reviews might be new to the concept of shows in restaurants (no offence intended).
Overall this place is a marketing gimmick and a real tourist trap. The owners of this place emphasize style...
