Mercado San Juan Arcos de Belén — Local services in Mexico City

If you're American, this market is a mix of awesome vendors with good prices and people who would obviously rather not deal with non-Mexicans for whatever reason. However, I go here at least twice a week to buy avocados from Roberto, because he has the BEST avocados in the whole world! Perfect every time. And that's all he sells, so he's really into his product. If you go in the entrance off calle Lopez, take a right just past the big altar and his is the second stand on the left. Easy to recognize because he has a mountain of avocados and nothing else. He's super nice and sells to people from all over the world. I have been coming here for over ten years for various food and other items. There are about a dozen restaurants located inside and they all serve various Mexican entres. I have eaten here more than a couple of times, but I normally come here for fruits and vegetables. I have purchased bananas, strawberries, pears, and jist about ecerything else from this market. I have also visited the seamstress for a couple of holes in my oants that needed to be repaired. In fact, that was the reason for today's visit. Entregando unos equipos me reuní con el distribuidor en una zona muy concurrida, en la plaza Teresa antes llamada cine Teresa. Descubrí que aunque habla perfectamente español de España este amigo es árabe con escasamente un mes en México . Las dos de la tarde fue la cita y como era la hora de comer lo invite a comer al mercado de san Juan , el que está sobre arcos de belén . Una simple sopa de Habas con nopales fue el primer manjar exótico que probamos seguido de un arroz con plátano (nunca pido así el arroz pero había que ponerle más exoticidad al asunto) y como plato principal las famosas y bien socorridas enchiladas verdes y otras enchiladas de mole las cuales compartimos que por cierto fueron videograbadas y seguramente difundido el video por todos los Emiratos árabes unidos, y para rematar un Huanzontle en Chile Morita que estuvo como para Reyes , un Azteca y un Árabe, y no podía faltar una Jarra de agua fresca de Guayaba. Aquí los precios son muy accesibles. La atención es cálida, simplemente muy buena. La dueña del local de comida tiene comentarios muy pertinentes respecto a sus platillos ,una de las salsas que probamos es como la que hacía su mamá pero no tan picosa. El ambiente del mercado tiene colorido por todos los puestos de comida . De fácil acceso para llegar al mercado ya que la estación salto del agua en las líneas 1 y 8 te dejan a escasos 50 metros y por ahí pasa un trolebús por el eje central.
