I love visiting Ciudad Mayakoba in Playa del Carmen. A friend of mine lives there, and every time I go, I’m struck by the peace and quiet. This is the place to go for authentic traditional Mexican dishes. I did not know what I would find here but I had a huge bowl of pozole for $6 USD. Tons of meat. Made from scratch. Just truly enjoyed the homemade meal. I would come here everyday and try every dish they make. Posting the sign for the stall opening really early in the morning serving breakfast. They are at the corner of the market with a sink to wash your hands.

On our first day there we had lunch at “las veracruzanas” and was not disappointed. One of our waiters was a little 7 year old boy that was the cutest and sweetest little thing.
