Castillo Tulum — Hotel in Quintana Roo

I’m here now! Love this place! So quirky and artsy! I’m in the Peacock Room, it’s lovely. Comfortable and clean and expertly decorated.

This is a large boarding house of sorts. Once you enter the front door you are in a very amazingly arty hallway with a number of private rooms. All doors have electronic locks. There is a spring water dispenser in the common hallway area.

My room has cold AC, a window for fresh air, beautiful bathroom with nice amenities and a hot water kettle with instant coffee and tea. I brought some Dripkits and enjoyed a nice cuppa while listening to Miles Davis and getting settled. Perfection.

There are no TVs here but the Wi-Fi is super strong and solid and one could stream content easily on your own device.

The area felt safe. Don’t rely on google maps, read the directions they provide upon check in. You can walk to Don Cafeto’s in under five minutes. And everywhere in Tulum town.

Don’t hesitate. Great room. Good for those who do not need much more than a cozy...

I could feel that the owners poured a lot of efforts to make guests stay comfortable. Everything is in order as needed - shower water pressure/temperature, hangers, towels (hand towels, normal ones, and beach ones), electric kettle, drinking water, and all. Didn't need anything more considering nice price. But I should mention that there was a strong drainage smell that I couldn't get rid off after time, shower, ventilation, everything 😂 It'll be great if it can be fixed. About the noise that people complained, I didn't feel so much as Tulum everywhere is quite a party place, and the area of this lodging isn't really in...

Clean rooms and bathrooms, spacious, friendly and helpful owner (she can give you tips and a map of tulum), small safety box in the room, close to main street with most restaurants and 10 minutes walking from the bus station. There is airco, so when you sleep you can easily close the windows and shut out possible street noise...
