I've stayed at this hotel twice now. Two weeks prior to me coming to the hotel, I emailed them about their free airport pickup service and gave them my flight details. They responded that they will pick me up. The day before my flight I called to remind them and they had no record of my information. The morning of my flight I called again and they said they didn't know what time they were supposed to be at the airport. I gave them my flight info for the 3rd time. When I landed-surprise! They weren't there to pick me up. I called them and they said that their driver was busy so I would have to take a taxi and pay for it myself. I argued that that defeated the purpose of providing airport pick up and drop off services. After arguing with them for 5 minutes their driver found himself free and arrived to pick me up. I was told there was free breakfast in the mornings. When I went to breakfast they told me I had to pay because I didn't have a breakfast voucher. I asked the front desk about it and the lady said "sorry ma'am you must pay". The next two mornings I didn't go to breakfast and I got called by the front desk 4 times each day questioning why I didn't go. The morning of check out they started calling me at 8am asking when I was going to check out and I continued to tell them 12:00 which was check out time. Around 10 they called and asked me to come down and pay for the room. Prior to me even booking this hotel I asked several times if paying with a credit card would be fine. They assured me it was. Upon payment time they said they needed cash instead. They asked me to go to an ATM and get cash and I explained that my credit card doesn't work on their ATM. They asked the bellhop to walk me out in the rain to 3 different ATM machines just to try. After walking around for 20 minutes in the rain at their request, I came back and stated as I had before, my credit card does not work in the ATM. They said ok and asked me for the credit card so they could charge it. Infuriating! If they could charge it all along why did they insist I walk around in the rain?! From start to finish I had very bad customer service from the hotel. Even when I didn't want or need anything, the front desk continuously calls the room with random questions. This was the worst hotel in Kathmandu I've stayed at and I stayed in plenty - I was there for a month! Save your time and money and go...

Read moreMeridian Hotel is a hotel on walking distance from the Tribhuvan International Airport. The hotel is bordering a busy traffic road and this immediately is a point for caution when you book the hotel to avoid booking the rooms at the roadside. The rooms have no double glass so the traffic can be easily heard from inside the rooms. The rooms are comfortable, although the bathroom floor is dangerously slippery. The mattesses are supersoft, the ac provides cold or hot air as needed. The restaurant can be found via stairs outside the 4th floor. Food is reasonable, but the conscientiousness for hygiene could be better. The rooms have good wifi and a tv with many channels. Staff is reasonable good. There is a shuttle bus to the airport if you have heavy suitcases, otherwise the walk takes at the max 10 minutes. The hotel has little other facilities and the surtounding of the hotel has many construction activities. Across the road from the hotel are some reasonable coffee joints and restaurants. Otherwise the hotel typically functions as a place to wait for your...
