Naturally thereâs loads of river boat options available and picking the ideal one can be a challenge. But, for a more informal and leisurely experience I can recommend this company. Boarding was immediately opposite the Hermitage Museum and there were enough members of staff present to make it an easy affair. They instantly recognised the ticket purchased in advanced and the boat is small enough to avoid a big rush of people when it comes to boarding. The weather was awful on our trip and although the boat had no cover the seats were lined with protection and ponchos were provided free of charge.
There was no microphone on the boat meaning the two guides had to relay the tour description to each end of the boat but fortunately it wasnât too large to be an issue. The information the two girls provided was interesting, entertaining and educational though, giving a good insight into some of the history and more âsecretâ aspects of the city.
One of the selling points of this cruise was the free drinks and although they were indeed offered, they werenât as free flowing as perhaps suggested. After the initial can of Heineken it was an awkward case of having to ask for more, helped or hindered by your seating position on the boat.
However, for the price, it was a really enjoyable hour. Although the toilets were out of order and the weather made things less than comfortable we had a good time and itâs a fun experience. Thereâs no doubt many more extensive tours and professionally run operations but they struggle to beat this one for value. Highly...
Read moreMe and my husband recently had the pleasure of taking a boat tour through the beautiful canals of Amsterdam, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. We were fortunate enough to board an earlier boat, because we were way to early at the Dock.
Seeing Amsterdam from the water offers a unique perspective of the city's stunning architecture and charming bridges. The historic buildings lining the canals are even more picturesque from the boat, and the gentle movement on the water added to the serene ambiance. The guide provided insightful commentary, sharing fascinating stories about the city's rich history and its remarkable sights. The highlight of the tour was undoubtedly the moment when we glided beneath the iconic narrow bridges, surrounded by the vibrant colors of the canal houses. The reflections on the water were simply breathtaking, making for stunning photographs. I would highly recommend this boat tour to anyone visiting Amsterdam. It's a peaceful and picturesque way to experience the city's beauty while gaining a deeper understanding of its culture and history. Don't miss the chance to see Amsterdam from this enchanting...
Read moreWhat a great experience! The three guys on board were friendly, engaging, funny, and knew a lot of facts about Amsterdam. We were fortunate enough to have two of them telling us about the architecture and history, which was great! The other one lived in Canada for a bit and we talked about that experience on the side.
The boat is uncovered, which allows a significantly better view out to the city streets and buildings. I've done another boat tour that was in a glass-roofed boat with obstructed views and dirty glass, and this was a FAR better experience!
The unlimited drinks were a big plus for us (other cruises are 22 euros pp; this is only 5 euros more pp), although the white wine wasn't available due to a connection issue to the tap. Suffice to say, we indulged in the Rosé and had headaches the next day. :)
We also went over the usual time as the guys wanted to show us even more of the city via boat, which was great! I'd highly recommend this and hope that you'll select this provider...
