I recently had the pleasure of visiting Dignita, a delightful restaurant nestled in the backyard of a museum within the charming city of Amsterdam. This hidden gem is situated in a tranquil park, making it the perfect spot for a relaxing and delicious brunch experience. From the moment I arrived, the serene ambiance and picturesque surroundings captivated me. The beautiful tant park (or hofje) provided a peaceful escape from the bustling city, creating a serene atmosphere that complemented the culinary delights awaiting me. Dignita specializes in brunch, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations. One of their standout dishes was their poached eggs served on a bed of squashed fried potatoes, with a choice of bacon, avocado, or salmon as delectable toppings. The combination of flavors was simply divine, and the perfectly poached eggs added a rich and creamy texture to the dish. It was truly a brunch experience to remember. I would highly recommend making a reservation in advance, as this charming establishment is a popular destination among locals and visitors alike. However, if you find yourself unable to secure a table, don't fret! Dignita offers a convenient takeaway option, allowing you to enjoy their delectable creations in the various benches and tables scattered throughout the park. It's worth noting that Dignita truly shines on sunny days and weekends. The abundance of natural light enhances the overall dining experience, and the opportunity to bask in the sun while savoring your meal adds an extra touch of bliss. The service at Dignita was impeccable, with the staff demonstrating genuine warmth and attentiveness throughout my visit. Their knowledge of the menu and their recommendations showcased their passion for the culinary creations they serve. In conclusion, Dignita in Amsterdam is a brunch haven that offers an exceptional dining experience. Its idyllic location within the museum's backyard, combined with the mouthwatering poached eggs on squashed fried potatoes, sets the stage for a memorable meal. Whether you secure a table in the cozy restaurant or opt for a picnic in the adjacent park, Dignita is a must-visit destination that will leave you craving for more.

Cool place to enjoy a laid back breakfast, brunch or generally some tasty comfort food. We came on a Sunday around noontime without reservation. As expected there was a queue but the line moved rather fast and we were seated in less then 15 Minutes. So don't let the queue discourage you, or just reserve a table ahead. Summer, so outside seating it was. Laid back crowd, good mix of locals and tourists. Although the place was bustling, the service staff acted efficient and welcoming. Ice coffee was decent, so was the fresh squeezed orange juice. I ordered the Chook Norris, which is basically a fried chicken sandwich, but arguably a really nice one. Fluffy milk bread, crunchy fried chicken and some great condiments, chipotle mayo and cilantro among other things. My partner´s dish, Benny Boy, was basically eggs benedict served on toasted wheat bread with a rich Hollandaise sauce smothered all over it. Both dishes were a mess to eat but really satisfying and yummy. So overall, if you are into brunch and such, this is a lovely place not to be missed when visiting Amsterdam.

I went to Dignita today with a friend for the first time and I have to say that since I have lived in Amsterdam I have never experienced such poor and rude service. But let's start with the good things: The food tastes really delicious. We ordered something on the spot to-go, since we had not made a reservation. The lady with a long blonde braid who "welcomed" us (more said immediately she didn't have any free spots) already seemed very stressed and was a bit rude, but when it's busy, that can happen. The to-go orders were called out loudly. After about half an hour, the lady from the reception shouted out a large Americano and a coffee, to which no one responded, which she registered with great displeasure. Then finally our order was ready too. We went up front to pick it up. When I asked if that was the avocado crumble, she just screamed my name right in my face that I ordered on. That was already awkward, in front of everyone. Next I said that our two coffees, two cappuccinos with oat milk, were still missing. She then called out in a loud voice that she had called 3 times and pointed to the large Americano and the coffee that were still in front of her. I pointed out to her that this was not our order and therefore not our fault. She sighed loudly and said sourly that someone else must have taken our coffees then and said we should go inside with her. Then she ordered a staff member to make new coffees for us in a tone that remained stressed and angry and stormed right back out. He then told us that there was no more oat milk either. At least he was nice and said that this happened before when I told him that this is no way how to treat customers. We got our money back for the coffee, but the whole experience was very uncomfortable and bad. Again: this is no way to treat a customer, no matter how stressed you are. I have never experienced that before and she didn't even apologize for the whole situation. If you go to a café or restaurant you want to be treated kindly since we are all looking forward to human interaction after this long lockdown. Very unfortunate as the location and restaurant itself is very nice.

The place is situated where you can't really see from an open Space. It has the potential of being a great restaurant-Café BUT qua service they have a long way to go... They tell you they can't reserve when you call, but when you go there and stand in line, many tables were reserved..it was 13:30 and very cold outside and they didn't want to turn the heaters outside, we asked to sit inside on one of the 7 free tables, we were told they were reserved!! We told them we were really cold and we could eat and be out in an hour, we were refused... We ate in the cold because we were hungry and it started to rain so we weren't able to leave, and after we ate and left, there were still 5 empty tables inside!!! Food is OK and so is the price. If you don't speak English, then forget about communicating with the service team, ours spoke no Dutch or any other European language!!

Average place for breakfast. I have visited their Vondelpark location like 2 years ago and it was way better. I am disappointed with the quality and taste of the food offered now. We visited the place on Saturday and the only time we could find was 15:30. It has both indoor and outdoor space. The food was average i would say no need to rush to go there. We opted for forest dweller, benny boy(which is their signature breakfast dish) which has options with bacon, salmon or avocado also ordered some cocktails bloody marry and grapefruit spiritz. Then we also wanted to try their cheesecake which also disappointed. The service was good and staff was friendly. I would not recommend waiting in line to get a table for this place since you can find better options in the city.

What an amazing place!! Outdoors and indoors seating. Located in the middle of a green park, even indoors you feel surrounded by nature since there are not walls at wall only windows (from floor to ceiling, like a crystal box inside of a park). They have plenty of options in the menu. The food that we ordered was fresh, tasty, and the portions were huge. They had a delay with our order (apparently they had an issue and they forgot our order) so at the end, without any kind of claim from our side, they apologized for the delay and discounted the beverages from the bill, which for me, is a sign of the good costumer service the have and how the appreciate the loyalty of the clients. Definitely this place is a must for brunch in Amsterdam, you will not be disappointed.
