L'Amuse — Local services in Amsterdam

Staff are not friendly or professional anymore, disappointed but unsurprised to see several other reviews echoing my recent experience.

Have been coming here for years and never had any issues, but today I was told that I don’t know what I’m buying and the staff even talked about me while I was still in the store, thinking I don’t understand Dutch.

Even when I politely told the staff I’ve been here many times before and never had any issues, they told me that I was fortunate that past employees were kind to me but that this is how they do things now. I must have been so very lucky over the last few years then.

Incredibly rude. Very disappointed to have to write this review. Selection is still good as usual but if you would like to have a regular exchange as you would at any other store, then I would go elsewhere.

Forgot to put my review, went to buy a provolone cheese. They had a decent slice, they weight it and it was quite expensive for what I am used to pay. Well was organic … whatsoever it means … and my surprise was horribly preserved! I couldn’t see it till I arrived home was hard and dry as a rock … couldn’t use half of it or more than half was not edible . And no, it’s not as it should be, it’s an overpriced and pretentious place. Not coming...

This is one of my favourite places in all of Amsterdam. They have an extremely wide selection of fantastic cheeses and the staff really knows what they're talking about (recommendations for wine-pairings even). I usually walk in and tell them I need a platter, one of each of the different kinds, and they walk me trough all the cheeses (tasting on the way!). Have never come back dissapointed and would more...
