Sunny Nelson Real Fruit Ice Cream — Restaurant in Hamilton

We have been loyal customers of Sunny Nelson and regularly enjoy your ice cream. We always order the same flavors, including the chocolate mousse, which has been our favorite. However, during our visit today, we ordered mango ice cream and chocolate mousse ice cream. While the mango ice cream was delicious, the chocolate mousse ice cream was unusually sour and not sweet at all.

Unsure if it was the banana in the chocolate mousse causing the sourness, we went back to inform your staff. Interestingly, the customer before us mentioned a similar issue with the same flavor, although she only reported it after her daughter had finished the ice cream.

When we spoke to your staff about our concern, they explained that they could not taste the ice cream for health and safety reasons, which is understandable. They offered to add more chocolate to the ice cream and advised us to mix it ourselves. We accepted their suggestion, but when we requested a replacement instead, the staff member displayed a very unprofessional attitude. After giving us the replacement ice cream, she went back into the staff room and shut the door without bothering to ask if everything was satisfactory.

Unfortunately, the replacement ice cream was still sour, but we decided to leave rather than raise the issue again. This experience was disappointing, especially as loyal customers who have always appreciated the quality and service at...

Came here to try get an ice cream on Sunday afternoon. I feel so sorry for the poor staff. Only 2 of them on, meanwhile its a hot sunny day and the line is out the door. Guarantee these poor people are getting minimum wage on a Sunday, when it's mind-numbingly busy, and I'd equally bet the owners are sitting somewhere enjoying their day off and making more money than the poor staff members giving up their day to get flogged to death by hot and bothered people. Waited in line for 16 minutes, and only one person got served whilst waiting. Pay your staff more, and put more people on when you know its going to be busy. Can just picture the owner kicking back today bragging to their friends about how they're making a killing today coz they've got minimum staff earning minimum wage. What a disgusting way to represent Nelson. Never again. Apologies to the serving staff for the bad review, your bosses are scabs, exploiting you for profit. You guys were working hard and obviously trying to do the best you could.

Edited to respond to the cop out owners response where people can see it. The couple of workers on that day were teenagers - props to them if they are the owners, but unlikely...

So disappointed, I decided to drive here instead of the real fruit icecream shop in Ruakura the person who served me this evening assumed I was a half wit when I requested a Pina Colada dairy free icecream and shortchanged me by $0.50

He then proceeded to tip table salt all over the top of my coconut dairy free Pina Colada (which I presume was a covert way of reducing costs in the hopes that he could shortchange me thinking that I wouldnt recognize) despite the picture depicted on the website having displayed shaved toasted coconut?? I said to him do you usually pour salt on people's icecream? Who does that? It's meant to be toasted coconut flakes.

The portion size was smaller than what a regular size should have been particularly when you overcharge.

Pictures clearly depict the prices which I should have been charged 9.50 and the toasted coconut flakes was what I should have received instead...
