The park is located on one end of Howick Village close to the stockade hill. There is a viewing platform on one side that has really nice views of the sea. There are seats here too. The grass on the side has large levels which could be used for seating. The circular path goes around the grass and leads to a small garden on the other side. The decking over the garden is quite nice and gives much needed shade particularly when the sun is out. It is decently sized but hard to see since the bulk of it is below the street level. It is the first time we have been there. We have found that the reserve was very quiet and convenient as we just parked our car next to the entrance. There were at least four parking lots there.
We enjoyed the views there and did around six laps round the reserve.
