Majestic Cafe - Howick Village — Restaurant in Howick

One of the latest cafe in Howick that we finally decided to try this week. The cafe was quite nicely decorated and was fairly busy when we visit late morning.

We ordered the beef burger, avo smash and coffee. The quality of the food was OK and on par with most cafes in the area.

However price is probably on the higher side (over $20 for each main). But my biggest criticism of the cafe is the quality of service. While they are busy, I still don't think its right for a customer to stand in front of the counter for few minutes without being even acknowledged by the staff who is working at the counter (taking food from the cabinet and heating then up). The same thing happen again when my wife tried to get the code to the toilet. On both occasion we have to call out only to be told to hold on as they are "busy".

While the ambience is nice and food is decent, there are probably enough cafes in the area offering better service with comparable food quality and price point (maybe...

Travelled 30mins to visit this cafe & can I say what a big mistake that was. My partner & I both ordered the eggs Benedict w/ Salmon and a regular mocha came up to $71.80 so for that price you’d expect top quality food and great service. Poached eggs were over cooked and the staff aren’t very welcoming. Our first and last time coming here. We are Majestic cafe regulars to other branches (Sylvia & New Market) so were very excited to try this branch but after this experience we won’t be coming here again & do not recommend other families going to this cafe. Well, how disappointing! Normally we enjoy their gorgeous Granola and perfect coffees, for which we give them a 5 star. Today we decided to try something different - the Waffle & Ice Cream. While it was beautifully presented, and ice cream was delicious, the waffle was just a cheap frozen thing (not even as good as a supermarket one) that was as hard as a rock and needed a knife to cut it.

So if you want a waffle, go somewhere else where at least it's...
