Auckland International Airport — Local services in Māngere-Ōtāhuhu

Rooms are very overpriced, very dated and pretty unclean. I could hear talking and snoring through the walls and everything from the hallway (over the local TV channels) and to be honest I've stayed in nicer hostels.

The communication before the booking was really stressful because they would only respond to my emails to say I had to call them from overseas something that was not possible. Customer service is a word this place doesn't understand.

I actually wanted to turn around and leave but felt trapped and pretty unsafe/unwelcomed by staff that where only interested in getting my passport and card details.

Horrible experience.

In the interest of fairness, there is two positives:

The shuttle which is quick, reliable and my driver was very cheery and my bed is comfy. though you only get one pillow.

Overall: Don't stay here. Go...

It was a disgrace to be called an International Airport. Everything closed staff were rude snarling at people at 5am. Stool at a wired fence like cattle waiting to be opened to go to plane no seating for anyone to sit except the floor. Nothing opened anywhere. I was ashamed for the visitors everyone was declaring never to use Auckland airport again. Auckland you need to go and learn how to treat people from the ChCh Airport so much more friendly as in staff seating availability eateries etc. Covid will go but horrible Auckland Airport won't...
