My Family group 4 adults/ 2 kids eat there on January 2 as we were staying at the Novatel overnight. We arrived at approximately 0730 and the manager said she could not get us in right away so she told us to wait in the lobby for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes we approached the manger again and asked if we could sit at the bar and have a drink. She agreed and we sat down and two rounds of drinks. Keep in mind that the restaurant was not busy and there were multiple tables everywhere. So at 09:00 my wife went back to the manager and asked when our table would be ready. She became annoyed and finally placed us at a table without menu's, glasses or cutlery. At this point the experience did become slightly better due to a waitress from Switzerland. ( which was her first and last day working at this restaurant) She sorted us with menu's and apologized for how poorly we were treated and how poorly the resteraunt was being run. There were issues with wrong wines rose wine ordered and some sparkling rose coming out delivered from the bar and the food was very average. I had a Ceasar salad the other 4 adults shared pizzas. The pizzas were small and very average at best. The bar did give us 2 more wines on the house but the experience is not something you would expect when your staying at the Novatel. Lesson learned for next time we are overnighting with early flights out...

Dined here for a dinner while also staying at the attached Novotel Hotel. I admit that I was feeling skeptical dining here given this restaurant location is technically at the airport (Airport location food quality is notorious for being terrible) but I was pleasantly surprised with my experience. The dining room is a lovely open space with double high ceiling. Despite the openness, it still felt cozy and somewhat of an intimate dining experience. The staff were friendly, though our server must have been new as she did have to read the specials off of a handwritten note. The food was top quality! I ordered the chicken schnitzel as my main. It didn't come with a sauce which made me nervous that the dish would be dry but it was cooked perfectly. The chicken was nice and juicy and served atop potatoes. I appreciated that the menu was in two languages: English and Te Reo Maori language - this really set the restaurant apart from other places I had dined. Prices are probably about what you would expect for high quality restaurant food, maybe even toward the higher side. Overall I am glad that I gave this place a chance. You can expect proper restaurant quality food...

How far you have fallen! We used to love a meal in the Novotel Auckland Airport before and after overseas trips. We should have backed out when we joined a queue just to ask if we could have a drink at the bar as we were a little early for our 8pm booking. We were told that was fine but had to rejoin the queue when 8pm arrived! I queried this as we were already in the restaurant bar just to be told 'that's the way it is'. Anyway, had a drink, 8pm came round, rejoined the queue and got seated only to be ignored! Hubby asked for service which was reluctantly given. The waitress took our order but only for one of us! We didn't want buffet so chose fish and chips off the menu and got only one portion. They argued that only one was on their docket! I could go on. Anyhow, avoid the olives, tiny with all pip, no pulp. Chips were soggy, fish mushy. They need a leader and more appealing menu. Bring on the Pullman- hopefully they will have a...

We had a very enjoyable meal at the THIRTEEN50. Warm and friendly welcome from Marianne (apologies if not spelt correctly), who sat us in a very comfortable booth. We were then welcomed again by our excellent server Olive. We are both vegetarians and were pleased to see several options. We enjoyed the Superfood Bowl, Roasted New Season Vegetables, plus a side of Steamed Broccolini and some Warm Focaccia. The food was well presented - and the vegetables cooked so well. Too many restaurants overcook veggies, but these were firm and well seasoned. Only slight negative was the size of the Broccolini side portion - we could have eaten a bucket-full! Olive was terrific - so polite and charming and she made time to chat with us. Food is obviously the reason we go to restaurants, but it’s the service that sticks in the memory. The service we received really made our evening. We’ll definitely visit again when next travelling from Auckland airport.

The food was absolutely AMAZING! The service wasn’t great it honestly seemed that they were at least 2 people understaffed. I’m sure the atmosphere would have been better had we been seated in a different place. We were seated at the very front table and ALL patrons walked past us. I am immune compromised and that was a big concern. I did try to ask the head of service/seating lady’s attention but she was taking room service orders as well and was not able to get her attention. It was also a freezing cold place to sit as each Time the doors open to the hotel the wind would blow straight into our table. We made a booking so there’s no reason for us to be sitting in the overflow type table. In saying this I am definitely coming back for dinner and bringing a friend with me as the beef short rib was the best food I have EVER tasted from a restaurant and the maple carrots I am craving!
