Well, I've been reading reviews before making my own from 3 weeks ago, so seeing as the owner keeps going at people also leaving reviews, let's see how this goes.
Firstly I booked a table for 8 and never got confirmation of the booking, I then rang to make sure it was okay for the booking to proceed as we never heard back, he said yes that will be fine. So a couple of days later we come to the fine establishment to where I'm informed no booking was made and no table allowed for, I was quite astonished by this, the waiter staff said sorry but another person came to the rescue and apologized then booted other people out for us.
Then came the food, my burger was okay, not too bad, my partners eggs were under cooked (don't come at me it's a fact they were) yes we are all busy but you work in the industry and we all make mistakes, what happens next is even better, my partner sent the eggs back and they arranged a new plate (thank you) but then offered my friend a credit for the hassle that's happened from the start even though it was my table booked, my partners food that wasn't done correctly and even better a waiter staff dropped food down my sons jumper. As you could imagine we have had enough and just wanted to go home.
It was very cramped and yes we understand making money is not easy at the moment but maybe a little less tables and a little more engagement would be better for the...
Read moreWhat a rip off. Certainly won't be back. Came to Adoro because friends labelled it keto friendly – turned out to be the Adoro in Ahuriri, not this one. Asked for the big breakfast without the bread for my husband. Didn't even get offered to have more of something else but still got charged the full price. But even worse, I wanted the scrambled eggs without the bread and asked for the bacon instead, got charged the full price ($16.50) plus the additional $5 for the bacon. $21.50 for scrambled eggs with bacon. Got charged $4.50 for the espressos which I later found out on the board are normally $4. I asked her to explain the $55 and she had absolutely no awareness of why I asked her that. What arrived at the table later was way less than average. A train station has more atmosphere than this place, and nicer staff. We certainly won't be back … coffee was...
Read moreI used to like going to Adoro, they have a good range of gluten free and the older blonde lady who was always behind the counter was a real delight. But the last time I went earlier this month will be the last time :( I paid $17.50 for scrambled eggs on toast. $17.50! (That is including $1 extra for gf toast - why is that necessary when they use sourdough bread which can't be much less in price than gf bread). Two other cafes I go to charge $9.90 for eggs on toast. I would happily pay $10-12 but $16.50 + $1 is astronomical. Adoro's eggs were nice but then so are other cafes. They did include a small dish of relish, but I didn't eat it as it didn't really suit the dish for my palette. So there was that difference, but paying so much for that extra is not worth going back for. Sorry Adoro, I'll find another...
