Mary Potter Hospice Shop - Cuba Street — Local services in North Island

I don't particularly like writing negative reviews, especially for a charity shop but then I'm not sure I'd place it as charity. I had become unwell and not able to work or take an income for a few months so visited the Op Shop for some at home clothes. I picked a plain, black pair of track pants, got to the counter and was told they were $70. I thought it was a mistake! The manager was incredibly rude to me expressing rather loudly that all funds were to help cancer patients and that I should not complain about it. I just bought the pants and left. Got home and found they were badly piled on the bottom. She made incorrect judgements of me, was rude, talked down to me AND ripped me off. I think I'll stick to the surrounding MPH shops in the region, all of which offer a fantastic service and quality without...

Pretty poor customer service, asked by the lady working here if I was parked outside because her boss was arriving shortly & would need a parking spot, I said yes and I wouldn't be too long. After about 10 minutes I got into my car, the lady then comes up to my car window and asks again if i'm leaving soon because her boss needs the spot. I said I was, just need to put my next place into the map as I'm new here & don't know how to get around yet, she then walked over to said bosses car and loudly shouted " OH MY GOD"... Quite surprised, I left and won't be returning. 101 in how not to treat...

An op shop is supposed to be shopping for people who can’t afford brand new items. $10 for a pair of worn leggings is absurd, $7 for a used kitchen bowl….. the prices here are shocking and the lady at the counter was very abrasive.
