Literally, not even figuratively, but literally the most disgusting motel in New Zealand. I don’t even know where to start. The lift/Elevator is a number of gross stains on the floor and walls. The hall has gross stains on the walls. Big stains, like a dog has relieved itself on the wall. The radiator in the room looks like someone has had a fight with it. The light on the wall was hanging out of it’s broken fitting, just waiting to electrocute anyone who investigated it.|| ||There were tiny children playing unsupervised in the disgusting hallway. The bed had a disgusting stain on the mattress. The bathroom was last updated in probably 1975 by the looks of the fittings.|| ||The TV was broken, there was no reception. The wifi is slower than dial-up and unsecured.|| ||The sheets were made of some horrible material I struggle to describe. Sort of like something a very poor quality tent might be made of. Something worse than pure polyester.|| ||The room is like a prison cell, but less clean. The room is worse than army barracks I have stayed in.|| ||As I had no TV and had to use my phone data to access the internet. I decided to amuse myself by sharing the photos on my Facebook. Everyone was disgusted, with suggestions that I should go and sleep in my car instead.|| ||I pondered who might find this accommodation acceptable. Possibly someone recently released from prison, but only because you got given a key to the door. Perhaps someone who had spent many years living in tent in a refugee camp, in a desert. Maybe someone who was usually a rough sleeper, or homeless. Other than that, I can’t imagine anyone would think this was anything other than a disgusting hovel.|| ||That they take money for this place from people visiting wellington is unforgiveable and shouldn’t be allowed. Places like this should be against the law. I’ve complained to the City Council and asked them to investigate it as a health hazard.|| ||I complained to Booking.com who kicked the can down the road and told me to take it up with the hotel. I did, they refused to refund and called me a liar. I have photos.|| ||I won’t be using Booking.com again, not should you, they won’t take ownership of such hideous sub standard experiences, so you are better off going direct to the hotel in the first place.|| ||I had no choice but to sleep in this cesspit or lose my money. I left as soon as I woke up, before dawn.|| ||So, my review is that this must surely be the worst accommodation you have to pay for, in New Zealand. I’ve traveled the world, and I’ve never experienced squalor like this. It is, quite...
Read moreWe stayed at Harbour City Motor Inn rm38 for 2 nights with 8 people, it was split into 3 bedrooms, a living room and kitchen (cooking utensils were provide) . Unfortunately there was only the one set of bathroom facilities in the unit, on the upside though the toilet and shower were split. The unit assigned to us was one of the biggest with a large balcony that goes almost right around the building. Laundry services are $2/load and tumble drying comes at an extra cost of $1 or $2. Customer service was excellent and the inn is situated in really close to Cuba St, where much shopping and food can take place. On the downside many shops close really early 5-6pm so you can't expect much of a night shopping trip happening. By car countdown & pak n save are a 7-10 minute drive away and there are many other smaller supermarkets close by accessible by foot including Asian...
Read moreWe stayed here on the 10th February 2020 & it was the motel from hell. We were put on the 2nd floor where there was a burnt out room under repair & it smelled awful..the smell was right through our room. We had a homeless? family on our floor that seemed to be occupying about 3 rooms & they were constantly slamming doors, talking loudly across the corridor, arguing, playing loud music until 2:30am & we needed to be up by 5am as we had an early morning sailing with Bluebridge..we had VERY little sleep & were very unhappy to say the least..I definitely would not recommend it to anyone & also it's very difficult to get in & out of..when I went in the lift to the basement about 5 30am there was someone sleeping down in the laundry area. We were afraid to complain in case any of these people damaged our...
