I had an extremely disappointing experience at this restaurant, which was marred by unprofessional service and disrespectful behavior. First, I had to wait for over 20 minutes before anyone took my order, which was frustrating. When I brought this up to the duty manager, his response was cold and dismissive. Instead of apologizing or offering a solution, he rudely told me that I should have gone to the counter to place my order.
As a strict vegetarian, I ordered Soya Chap as a starter, followed by Kadhai Paneer, Raita, and Garlic Naan. However, after another 20-minute wait, I was served the wrong dish—Soya Chap Masala instead of the plain Soya Chap. This was just the beginning of a series of issues.
The most disturbing part of the experience was when we found a piece of meat in the Kadhai Paneer. This was completely unacceptable for us, as we are strict vegetarians. When we brought this to the attention of the duty manager again, his response was shocking. He told us it was a "busy time," and that they were "not taking any money," and even requested that we refrain from mentioning this incident in a review. His lack of accountability and indifference to our concerns left us stunned.
Overall, the cold and unwelcoming attitude, along with the lack of regard for customer needs, left a sour impression.
This experience has been nothing short of frustrating and unpleasant. I will not be returning, nor would I recommend this...
Read moreLISTEN TO ME this is the best Indian restaurant I have ever had the pleasure of dining in! I have so much enthusiasm for this place I can hardly write this out properly but will do my best.. I am infact still seated within this fine establishment just to savour the time I’ve spent in here longer! As you enter the lovely sounds of soft progressive house music hit your ears, now yes you might not think this is traditional Indian but let me assure you the sensational atmosphere this naughty lil Sunday sesh music creates is just immaculate! The customer service is also incredible, the main man is a lovely cruisey sort of character, softly spoken and very easy going. Happy to recommend and just the type of man you could easily enjoy a long chat with on a sat day afternoon over a few beverages! The food, well there’s not much I can say. I don’t know how this restaurant isn’t rated 5/5 stars with 10k reviews. Mrs and I had the lamb shank curry and the beef moon special curry. We enjoyed the curry’s with a side of plain rice, garlic naan and roti bread. Absolutely insane, I cannot recommend enough. When asked by the lovely humble man how our meal was I could only but smile up at him with tears in my eyes, mouthing the words “boss…boss..” and giving him a big thumbs up. What an absolute treat. Get ya self here asap folks!!!
Also, cocktails were just outstanding so get involved with a few...
Read moreHad takeaways a couple of weeks ago here and there had been a mistake with one of the dishes, the restaurant not only replaced the meal, but also gave another complementary dish for our next order. The customer service is worth a mention here, they are very friendly and offer solutions when something doesn't meet their standard (don't always find this with Indian restaurants). The restaurant itself is tidy, well presented, great lighting over the bar area and I look forward to dining in here next time we are in town. The curries are by far the best in Rotorua (as out of towners, we pretty much write off getting indian when visiting family here because it's always terrible) but we won't be now! Butter chicken (sweet) probably the best BC I've had, Mango Chicken full of flavour, Tikki Madras good too - you won't go wrong ordering from...
