Hats of to New World (Bank Street, Whangarei) for there outstanding customer service. I had a very 'senior moment' and forgot I was using a 'card only" self service eftpos machine and when it came time to pay I pushed 'partial payment' as I wanted to also pay part of it in cash. I realised too late my mistake this was not possible! However, the lady tending this area bent over backwards to 'correct my error' by doing something on her eftpos machine (with another staff members help) which reduced the balance on my eftpos machine to a 9 cent balance - which she paid out of her own pocket. She then took my groceries over to a 'cash and card machine where she processed my groceries and I put the $25 cash in - which gave me 10 cents change - which I gave back to her. I had the best experience whilst trying to do a big family shop before Christmas . For the last 12 years my father has been enduring what comes with having Cancer and has gotten to the point where its becoming complex.

The kindness from staff was exceptional and really lifted my spirets!! Everything from : helping me find items in a store thats not my regular (as I'm not from Whangarei ) to price checking items and finding they were perfect for Christmas budget... however the best part i have saved till last ....this beautiful spirited young woman named ''Hope'' just made my experience and Christmas season so much easier by just being who she is... Her kind and warm infectious personality i experienced when helping me at check out gave me peace that amongst chaos there is still lovely people out there that simply by being who they are can brighten a persons fragile circumstance .

I felt very uncomfortable today morning in the checkout! Horrible staff and very rude old maori women supervisor in the checkout. Please talk to her about that! And this is not the first time she is like that! She yelled loudly in front of everyone to stand at a distance of 2 meters and immadiately go back to the plastic glass. What a behavior it is and very humiliating. The cashier was also nice, but when she saw this women, she changed her style. It was a very humiliating situation and I just wanted to pack it in my grocery because no one packed and I thought you would help the cashier.

And at the end they give me an effect and I didn't get the recipe either. Although I loved shopping here but I don't think I'm going to go any further, because that's how you can't treat a shopper who's been 4 years old to...
