BurgerFuel Timaru — Restaurant in Canterbury

We were travelling through Timaz from Christchurch to get to our destination we were hungry and saw Burgerfuel so we popped in for dinner, we didn't realise it was closing at 8pm and we popped in at 7.50pm the server was super lovely took the order and it was the vibe of the restaurant I realised we popped in a little too late. The chef there was so rude, you could tell he was upset that people where there ordering and was expressing it loudly that it's Christmas Eve and why are people ordering or why was he working etc, and something about working on new years he was just rambling was so annoying. He continued to do so right through service and expressing how angry he is, I was watching the people around the restaurant and they were all staring including the customers who had ordered online and still waiting for their food it was so awkward. A customer was about to walk in and the chef rushed to the door and proceeded to shooo them away all he needed to say was "hi ya did you make an online order? Otherwise we're closed for the holidays now" Instead he literally yelled to this customer who couldn't really speak English that their closed and was shooing him to Hells Pizza and shut the door in his face. I haven't seen anything like it. If the pressure is tough time to get another job. He needs to work on his stress skills was so hard to watch. We sat in for a quick bite around 7 pm. We both ordered modified thunderbird and kumara with aioli.

Wait for the food wasn't long. I normally don't fancy burgers much so I was curious if it will be yet another disappointment. And I got to say I loved it! Perfectly balanced flavours, bun was not soggy, nice crunchy vegetables, spicy just right. Scored big in my books.

Toilets were nice and clean, great to park right in front of the place and not have to walk far. Though parking is not huge.

One thing I could fault would be the chill from constantly opened door due to a ton of take outs that gave it a train station vibe.

terrible experience, waited along time to be served, i did notice they were busy cooking so didn't mind waiting until they were free. was given eye contact by some staff as i waited on the spot that says 'wait here to be served', nothing was said. then after about 5 minutes another couple walked in, we waited another few minutes and they got served before me. then the person behind the counter still walked away from me until i asked if i could get served - no politeness from them what so ever after that, just seemed like a huge inconvenience. and then when i was given my meals i got a very unsympathetic "sorry" which appeared very forced from them.. wont...
