Queenstown Paraflights — Local services in South Island

I booked an appointment for tandem paraflight at 2pm on 21 April, however, I could not arrive on time because my transportation from mildford sound to Queenstown was late. I got called 10 mins before the flight and I asked for rescheduling to 3pm. The paraflight staff who contacted asked me to make full payment for 3pm slot and I agreed. I was on time for 3pm slot but they canceled on me due to weather condition and rescheduled us next day which again was cancelled by them due to weather condition. We were rescheduled again to 3pm the next day, but surprisingly was again being cancelled by the operator. And when I asked for rescheduling they said it was fully booked. So they refused to refund us and refused to let us use it for another time. I felt pretty ridiculous as I even booked photograph which does not take up anyone’s slot. And if we have agreed to make full payment and the flight was cancelled by the operator 3 times we should have been refunded. In their conditions, they never mentioned there is punishment for Changing slot. Even they reused to refund the flight, they should at least refund the photography. Did the parasailing with my my wife and son on 9th January 2018. Excellent experienced and knowledgeable staff. We never did this before and was a little apprehensive before the flight along with others who seems even more scared than us! But we went up first. Before you know it we were up in the air at around 300 or 400 feet. Spectacular view of Queenstown lake and the city centre plus the mountains. Before we know it the wind changed and then the real fun began. Some buffeting and I could see the crew fighting the wind far below us in the boat and trying to reel us in but couldn't because of the strong wind. For some reason I was not scared now - I was scared at the beginning. I know the crew was trying their best plus we got all the safety gear attached. At last I could sense the line being pulled and we were slowly getting closer to the boat and saw the petrified faces of other would-be para sailers. Some of them were already sea sick. No one else did the para sailing in that trip due to unpredictable winds. Again hats off to the crew who are top notch. The skipper asked if we would like to go up again! We were booked for paraflight at 5 pm. The operator called us at around 9 am to ask if we can resched to an earlier time due to weather conditions. We said it won’t be possible but we can try as we were coming from Christchurch. The operator said it’s algood to just stick with the original time. We had bad reception on the way to Queenstown so we missed his call at 1 pm. We tried calling back a couple of times but no one was picking up. We got to the location at 4 pm and got told that the paraflights closed early. No messages or calls left. They could’ve left us a simple message saying they were closing early and cancelling our flight. They also could’ve just cancelled our flight in the first place and we would’ve understood. It was so unorganised and they shouldn’t have closed early knowing that someone was booked at a later time. Anyway, he gave us a refund for the cancelled flight. Hopefully they’ll be more...
