Macpac Queenstown — Local services in South Island

I had an extremely disappointing experience at Macpac Queenstown on 31 January. While waiting in line for check-out, I noticed that the staff member (a young woman with blond hair tied in a ponytail) was friendly and accommodating to Western customers. However, my own experience as an Asian customer was markedly different. When we asked politely if we could get a new product (as the displayed ones had quality issues), the staff exhibited a poor attitude, sighing heavily and rolling her eyes at us, which felt incredibly disrespectful. She then told us that there were new stocks in the storage room, but later we saw her talking to her colleague in the storage area, and when she returned, she pretended that she had checked and informed us that no new stocks were available.

Earlier, while walking around in the store, we would like to take a closer look at a product so we placed it on an available table nearby since there was no other space available. Instead of offering assistance, the same staff member approached the table and slammed some other products down onto the table with forceful thud (which were just inches from our face), making it clear that we were unwelcome.

This behaviour reflects a concerning lack of professionalism and respect which is disheartening, and it feels discriminatory at the same time. I hope the management addresses this issue to create a more inclusive and welcoming environment for all customers, regardless of their race...

There is a little less choice than Frankton, but you can already find plenty of things there! The prices are attractive and the quality of the items is good. I'm taking two stars off for the unfriendly saleswoman who questioned my word that I had placed an order in store because she couldn't find any trace. (It's not my fault if it was done poorly) Fortunately the lady who placed my order arrived at that time. Likewise, they never call back to keep informed. This is not the first time that I have had a problem of this type with this store, regarding an order. Customer service not good. I wouldn't go back there again.

FR : Il y a un peu moins de choix que celui de Frankton, mais on y trouve déjà pleins de choses ! Les prix sont intéressants et la qualité des articles est bon. Je retire deux étoiles pour la vendeuse antipathique qui a remis en cause ma parole sur le fait que j'avais passée une commande en magasin, car elle ne trouvée aucune trace. (Ce n'est pas ma faute si cela avait été mal fait) Heureusement que la dame ayant passée ma commande soit arrivée à ce moment là. De même, ils ne rappellent jamais pour tenir informer.
