I ordered a scone, which was $8.20 (already an outrageous price for a scone, but I was hungry, and it does taste good). I was asked if I wanted butter–which of course I do, since it's a scone. As I went to pay I was charged $8.70. When I asked about the price discrepancy, she said, "the price of butter." Hunger got the better of me, so I paid. But, the "price of butter" should be built into the price of the scone. No one is buying a scone without butter. So there you have it: nearly $9 for a cheese scone with a small slice of butter. I have been driving past Beau Deli and seeing it really busy with lots of people sitting outside. I decided to drop in for my morning coffee and see what all the fuss was about. The fuss … they have got the main ingredients spot on! Good coffee, tasty looking toasted sandwiches and baked goods (grabbed a cheese scone - Warm and lovely) topped off with genuine friendly service. First time here and everything was excellent. Friendly service, great coffee, delicious food. The ham and Swiss cheese with pickles on focaccia was spot on - champagne ham was full of flavour, cheese perfectly melted and the pickles and mustard were just the right balance. The lemon Madeline was soft, tangy, and wonderfully lemony. My oat flat white looked gorgeous and tasted just as good....
