I used to visit this cafe twice a week - lovely coffee and food and really great staff with the exception of one lady (regularly behind the counter). She was really rude to me. I ordered a coffee and food and sat outside as normal. The wrong coffee was delivered to me, I sent it back. No further coffee came and so I ate my food without. I went inside to the counter (25 mins later) on my way out to ask for a refund. I told her what had happened. Far from apologising, she was argumentative - firstly about what I ordered and secondly blamed me for not getting my coffee saying “we don’t do table service”. I said “yes fine, but you would surely bring the right coffee out if the wrong one was brought to my table” - she said no she wouldn’t, then claimed that she had sent her trainee out to tell me to come to the counter (no one came to tell me that and even so, why are you arguing this point). It was like she had to be right and have the last say. She made me very uncomfortable and I won’t be back. She will likely blame her trainee who took my order and failed to advise me but those were just beginner mistakes - not at all a problem. The problem was her attitude. It’s a shame because the coffee guy and kitchen...
Read moreThe group at our table is agreeing that Salta produces the most consistently excellent flat white of any cafe we have experienced in Auckland. It is never less than an 8 and is very often a 10, irrespective of who the barista is.
Salta is the perfect every day cafe. Not too frumpy but upmarket nevertheless.
Thank you so much ❤️
One other thing. I just saw Kyle Broome’s ridiculous, racist review.
“I’ve been coming here for 10-years, never again, “Indian” staff member”
Who are you to write such a scathing attack on someone’s business, calling out their race (as if it supports your rant), and in so doing so carelessly slur their reputation over some ego-centric slight?
Actually, when I look at your other negative reviews, I see who you are. You reveal your elevated view of yourself in your one-line dismissals of another person’s worth.
May I suggest that you take as much care in your negative critiques as you take in your positive reviews.
Give some suggestions. Make it balanced in some way rather than being just another online bully, bashing for the sake of bashing.
Finally, May I suggest you revisit your Salta review. Recognise the racist slur, edit your own mind, and then...
Read moreHaving recommended by a work colleague, I happened to visit this cafe on a gloomy afternoon and must say what a hidden gem it is (in awe with the pretty courtyard!) Being a hospitality trainer by profession, I strongly believe that it's always the small things, if done right make any establishment successful and must say this cafe is doing great on that front. Lovely staff, warm welcome and the eggs bene i ordered hit the spot! Special shout out to one of their staff Sau. He was having his lunch in the courtyard. I mistakenly dropped my cutlery and tissue on the floor; noticing that, he left his lunch behind, swiftly got up and got them replaced. It was a bit gloomy, but as the sun came out, I was having a little difficulty with visibility while working on my laptop. Sau promptly came to the table and opened the sun shade umbrella for me. Great touch! As aforementioned, these small things raise the standard of customer service and without doubt will bring me back to your...
