Our family dinner at K10 Sushi Train in Ponsonby last night was an absolute delight! It was the perfect solution for our mixed-age group, providing a fun and engaging experience for everyone. The constant parade of beautiful dishes kept my children utterly captivated,it was like a delicious game for them, choosing their own little plates of goodies. The atmosphere was vibrant and modern, with a great buzz that felt celebratory without being overwhelming. We could still easily chat and share our finds across the table. The sushi itself was not only incredibly fresh but also presented like little works of art. I adored the more creative rolls with their complex flavours, while the children were thrilled with the adorable character sushi. My partner couldn't stop praising the melt-in-your-mouth salmon belly nigiri. We also ventured beyond sushi, sharing plates of perfectly crispy tempura, which felt wonderfully comforting for a family evening meal. The service was exceptional. The staff were so attentive and sweet with the kids, helping us with our seating and making sure we had everything we needed. It was a truly effortless, enjoyable, and delicious dining experience that took the stress out of feeding a family. We’ve already decided this will be our new go to spot for our little family celebrations! Highly recommended for mums and families looking for a...
Read moreI usually don't write bad reviews, but this place was frustrating and I felt the need to share. First of all, I came with my two daughters and we didn't feel welcome because the waitress had a noticeable attitude, setting a bad tone. She informed us that there was no beef available unapologetically which was quite disappointing and strange for a sushi place. The udon we ordered for $7.20 had a MUCH smaller portion than what we saw on the menu, which was misleading. The bowl on the picture looked big and was filled, but the udon we received came in a tiny bowl and wasn't even filled. Our waitress made it seem like it was no big deal, wasn't their fault and didnt apologise to us once. Even my kids felt her attitude. Despite how much I wanted udon, I cancelled it under the pressure and it was the only option she gave us. We had a bit of sushi and stayed there for only 20 minutes and left without being full. From our perspective, we don't recommend this place at all unless you're looking for unwelcome environments and food with small portions. There are plenty of better options...
Read moreI’ve never had sushi this bad before. I honestly wonder how such poor-quality sushi was allowed to be displayed and sold. The freshness was gone, the sushi was already dried out, and I was truly shocked to have paid for four packs in that state. What shocked me even more was the attitude of the staff. What exactly were they so unhappy about? Did I do something wrong? This was my first time visiting the store.
I came in at around 11:00 PM on 18 July 2025. While I was there, I saw a young boy about the same age as my child touching several packs of sushi with his fingers. I chose not to say anything not because I was trying to be patient, but because I’m not a staff member, and I didn’t want to risk a customer-to-customer conflict. It’s not my job to manage those situations. By the way, there was a female staff member taking her meal break inside the store. To be honest, I don’t understand how this place has a rating above 4.0. I believe the management should seriously investigate both the quality control and customer service at...
