I had an unpleasant shopping experience at the Chefs shop in Newmarket today. I purchased a magnetic digital timer. When I got back to the car and looked more closely at what I had purchased I realised it had a max timing limit of 90 minutes. This would not be convenient so I went back to ask for a refund. They told me this was not possible as there was nothing wrong with the product but they would give me a store credit. After a couple of calls I discovered they are correct and have the right to do so. I have be a customer of the previous owner of this business since 1990 and was more than a little dissapointed with their store policy. I have never had this type of experience before in NZ when returning a product for similar reason and wanted to advise other customers considering shopping this business to beware.

But staff was polite and they declined it polite way that’s not a issue, actually issue is their replacement policy,
Because we didn’t asked for refund we asked for 1 size bigger, and if you see shoes is still brand new condition.
Now can’t use this brand new shoes and will be sitting at home...
