Just had a most awesome day aboard Lion New Zealand.

A group of around 25 of us went out to watch the first day of the Americas Cup - World Series race. The race highlight being the final race between American Magic and Team NZ. A very large TV was placed on the foredeck so we could watch the TV footage as well.

However the real highlight was just being aboard this historical race boat - closely followed by an amazing Donut Dip which we had for afternoon tea.

They are taking taking bookings for charters at the start of 2021 for groups to watch the Prada Cup, so worthwhile experience if you want to get close to the action on the water.

I went on the 5 day sailing school holiday camp aboard the Lion New Zealand. I had a great time learning to sail, making new friends and develop my leadership skills. Skipper Jo and the crew were amazing always ensuring everyone felt comfortable and eager to learn about sailing. In addition to sailing the week was filled with exciting activities including kayak racing, swimming, a bird sanctuary visit and a movie night. My highlight of the trip, however, was the sunset sail. Watching the sun disappear behind Auckland’s skyline was a magical moment I’ll never forget. I would highly recommend this camp to any teenager looking for an adventure. Went on a 3 day sailing experience. Skipper Jeremy and crew were amazing. It was a great balance of sailing and walking in 2 nature preserves. The food was 5 star and I was comfortable in my little berth, lulled to sleep by the rocking. We got to swim in the ocean with the safety conscious captain watching out for us.
