On Valentine's Day, we decided to visit this place; when you have too much going on in your life, it's better to have some nice food. We reached the place around 4 pm, and it was almost empty. It's a hassle to find parking if you don't know the area well. We parked in another building. If you go in the evening, you will find plenty of parking if you go further towards the restaurant; take the first left.
We found the guy working at the front desk was exhausted; maybe they had a busy day because for the menu, you should scan the QR code. It asked for the table number, and when I asked the guy what to do, he told me to put any number, and it would be fine. We made up our minds and rang the table bell, and the guy came and took our order.
Kerala Parotta: It was good, but still, I felt it was a little chewy and rubbery. However, it's one of the best parottas, but it's not that big in size, only medium-sized.
Beef Fry: Wow, one of the best beef fries; we loved it. It tasted exactly the way we expected. A must-try item. It will not disappoint you.
Chicken Pepper Curry: A good curry, but a little bit sweet, and the chicken pieces were not fully cooked. It's still difficult to separate them from the chicken bones. A little bit more time is needed for those chicken pieces, but it's not a big deal. We still enjoyed the evening's food.
A must-try item is their Mango smoothie; wow, don't miss it.
Things I didn't like: they seemed understaffed and took a long time to bring our order to the table. To avoid such situations, order beforehand via phone. We wanted to have one more mango smoothie, and the guy told me it's going to take time, so we happily declined it. Also, we saw many customers leaving because of the waiting time.
A great place to have tasty Kerala food. Will definitely visit again. I paid a total of around $78.
Our second visit experience 5/5
We revisited the restaurant after having a wonderful native food experience (Kerala cuisine). This time, to avoid any delays, we placed our order via phone 30 minutes beforehand. Upon reaching the restaurant, we were pleasantly surprised to receive our food within 5 minutes.
During this visit, we ordered:
Chicken Kizhi Parotta: The parotta was deliciously soaked in chicken gravy and expertly wrapped in banana leaves and foil paper. It tasted exceptional with no complaints whatsoever.
Parotta: This time, the parotta was softer and not rubbery like last time. We were delighted to enjoy the Kerala parotta once again.
Vizhinjam Chicken Fry: This dish is a must-try for chicken fry enthusiasts. The chicken pieces were well-cooked, perfectly seasoned, juicy, and incredibly tasty. The crispy curry leaves and garlic added an extra punch to the dish. It's definitely not to be missed.
However, the only dish that didn't quite meet our expectations was the beef roast. It resembled more of a beef curry in a thick masala rather than a roast. The beef pieces were not well-cooked and were difficult to chew. It's advisable to skip this dish.
Overall, it was a fantastic experience. After indulging in some amazing food, we were left with the feeling of a happy tummy and a content soul, which was truly priceless.
To conclude our dining experience, we enjoyed a super impressive tea and a delicious mango smoothie. Do give their mango smoothie a try; you...

Let’s start with the setting: walking into this restaurant is like stepping into the Arctic tundra. I half-expected a penguin to seat me. It's unclear whether they’re trying to preserve the food, the guests, or their electricity bill, but whatever the case, pack a parka or risk hypothermia. Seriously, if they charged extra for warmth, I might have paid it.
Now, about the food—it’s good. Really good, in fact. The flavors are rich, authentic, and carefully crafted. But here’s the kicker: you’ll have aged significantly by the time it arrives. If you arrive hungry, you’ll be fasting by force. I assume they’re sourcing spices from a Himalayan peak every time someone orders a curry.
The staff? Lovely. Kind, attentive, and clearly trying their best. It’s a shame they have to keep apologizing for delays and pass out menus like emergency blankets. They're doing damage control for what feels like a kitchen operating on dial-up.
In short: Marine Drive serves a delicious slow-motion meal in a cryogenic chamber, brought to you by genuinely warm humans in an otherwise frigid, frustrating experience.
Come for the food, stay for frostbite and...
Read moreI visited this restaurant today for dinner with my family, which included a pregnant lady, and we had a very disappointing experience.
We ordered Vizhinjam chicken fry, biriyani, and a couple of other items. Right from the start, the plates served to us had visible dirt on them, which was already a bad sign. Things got worse when we found long hair in the Vizhinjam chicken fry. This was extremely off-putting and made us all lose our appetite. When we brought it to the attention of the table attendant, they took it away and replaced it with a couple of new fries — but the replacement wasn’t up to standard either.
The biriyani rice was also undercooked and lacked proper flavor. We expressed our dissatisfaction at the front desk while making the payment and asked to speak to the owner. Even though we were told he was inside the kitchen, he did not come out to speak with us or take responsibility for what happened.
It’s not just about how the food tastes — hygiene is just as important, especially when you're serving customers who expect clean, safe meals for the price they are paying. Sadly, this place failed to meet even basic expectations.
I hope the management seriously addresses these issues before more customers are let down...
