I’ve been getting SNS for years which I’ve always been happy with, the normal nail salon I go to was fully booked so I decided to try this salon. The nail tech talked me into trying the “hard gel “ product as it’s meant to last as long as the powder SNS. Firstly she was very friendly, the salon was clean and manicure I had was great however I have to rate this only two stars because of how my nails have turned out. The pics don’t actually properly show it but they are very thick and “bubbly” or “warped” looking, they aren’t smooth at all and the thickness is just so uneven they look quite terrible. She did SOOO many layers. I showed my disappointment when I went to pay and asked how much the removal was. I got a manicure and pedicure here the other week and I wasn’t going to leave a review but now half of my toe nails are ingrown and I had not had a good experience in the salon. The lady doing my manicure was great, but while I was getting the pedicure the tech cut my actual toe several times with the grinder and was being really harsh to the point I was wincing in pain and one of my toes was bleeding, I asked her to be more gentle as it hurt and it didn’t get any better. I’ve never had such an uncomfortable and unpleasant experience while getting a pedicure, so disappointed as now also half of my toes have ingrown nails as they were cut too short. Ponsonby Nails is the best nail salon I have ever been to. Their quality is surpassed by none. My nails take a real beating - I do sailboat racing, DIY renovation, gardening, and loads of housework. Unlike any other nail salon I have ever been to - my nails hold up after getting them done at Ponsonby Nails.
