I ordered the chicken dish stuffed with figs and cheese and honey and orange sauces, very exited to eat when the food finally arrived, after a long wait for the waitress to take notice of us. When the food arrived it looked delicious, but when I cut into the chicken I found bacon! It was impossible to eat without the bacon, as it was everywhere. Which is not written in the main menu, but at the back under a list of ABC in the dishes. Why doesn't it say so in the main list? This made me believe that is was without beacon. I cannot eat bacon. When I sent the dish back I expected to get a new chicken without bacon, but instead the waitress brought me the same plate back! Telling me it was written in the "main" menu that is was wrapped in bacon. I asked to speak to the manager, and he told me the same thing. When I tried to tell him that it was wrong to not include the bacon as a part of the explainaton of the dish, he told me I should have asked him if it was with bacon. How am I supposed to ask when it is not written? I tried to tell him again and again that it was not written, and he proceeded to quarrel with me and kept telling me I should have asked him! He did not act professional at all, kept repeating the same thing again and again. Did not offer to give me a new dish, and did not offer his apologies. At last I told him I would not eat anything, he said "ok, thank you" aggressively closed the menu and left in a hurry. This is the worst service I have received. If you to decide to eat here, by all means do, beacuse the food is good, it's just the service and the behaviour of the worker that...

The positives: nice and friendly staff, especially the manager and female waitress, who know their wines. food, when cooked properly was amazing and cooked well. I'd recommend the tuna belly, it was delicious there was a good chocolate cake on the menu which I'd recommend

The negatives: -staffs need training, we were given the wrong dish twice. 1) was when we were given another tables main, when we hadn't received our starters and 2) when we ordered for our mains 2 fish dishes we were served the tuna and a different dish from the mackerel which we had ordered. We were given a pork dish. As all the staff had disappeared from the outdoor area, I had to search for staff inside the restaurant. When I found the waitress it took her some time to comprehend the wrong order and she quickly typed something into her system which was the order of mackerel we hadn't received. This was typed in as a rush and the fish was still partially raw, dark red inside. Thus I had to complain again and the manager came and apologised and offered us a free dessert for which we chose the chocolate cake which was good. don't eat the bread and appetizers on the table, they'll charge you 3.50 for decent olives and below par bread and a...

I love the way this restaurant manages to combine genuine and authentic Algarvian with a modern twist. We arrived late and our guests were even later, almost 45 mins later! The staff didn't seem impatient, even though we were the only patrons at that time, in a mid week, mid winter night. They were cheerful and helpful. The food was uncomplicated and delicious. The wine list sufficiently wide ranging to give a real range of choices. The local produce star in the regional dishes, prepared with proper respect for the ingredients. The small shop also offers a range of truly local gifts and delicacies.

Update: this restaurant survived COVID thankfully. The menu remains authentically Algarvian. The staff continue to be prompt and helpful. We have had 2 excellent meals here since restrictions were lifted. It was summer and busy. We ate on the terrace and enjoyed the...

The food was just okay, it could have been better. Perhaps it's prepared only for tourists who don't know what real seafood tastes like. The salads looked a bit dry, but the fish soup was surprisingly delicious, although it was more like a purée than a soup. The desserts were amazing, and I highly recommend trying the traditional ones. The indoor atmosphere feels cold and uninviting, and the decor is rather dull. I also find it odd that they have a TV, why TV in place like that? Are we watching football or what?!? However, the staff is friendly, welcoming, and professional, which is a plus. In my opinion, the experience is overpriced considering the lack of comfort, taste, and elegance. I would prefer to pay, for a better overall experience.

Tourist trap, avoid! The wine in the sangria tastes cheap, the food was extremely salty, and the fish in the main was like 5% of the meal as previous comments have identified. Did not appreciate the mixing of smoking and Non-smoking customers, public smoking is banned in the UK for a reason. I'm a foodie and bad food makes me feel bad. It leaves me not wanting to enjoy my night. The staff looked depressed, especially when there is a lovely pub next to you, at least try to make efforts in conversations with customers. Safe go say we won't be returning and will be passing on the message that it's a big trap, avoid it! Plenty of better options to wine and dine in Faro!
