Chiringuito la Torre — Local services in Benalmádena

This is the first bad review that I am leaving, it takes too much for me to have such a bad taste that I want to ‘warn’ the others as well. It took a series of event. First of all it’s not my first time strolling in Marina and I have definitely seen this place before and I always wondered why nobody goes there, I never see a queue( now I know why). But yesterday I had such a craving for something sweet, crepe I thought. So we go there maybe around 8:30 pm, in front of us were two ladies ordering three crepes, which took 20 minutes to make, the girl making them was extremely slow and never crossed her mind to use both stoves at the same time to hurry up. apart from that she didn’t leave the crepe enough to cook, left only until they were yellow, the chocolate was put on top and in such a small amount. I started to doubt the place, but I just decided to change my order into waffles. Secondly there were like tree other workers, no idea what they were doing, but certainly not helping the girl serving the clients to avoid the queue and the long wait. Finally 8:50 pm, my turn I order waffle( don’t even try talking in English, even the word ‘ chocolate’ it’s like they hear it for the first time( the menu is both in Spanish and English). She takes two seemingly very old dough from the fridge and lets me know it will take like 5 min, which was okay with me I don’t mind. She made the waffle, too small but still I don’t mind, I take them on a plate with fork and knife as she served it to me and go to seat on the table, and that moment a guy that was also working there shouts at me ‘ cerrado’ and all four of them gather telling me harshly’ no noo you have takeway you can’t seat’ ( I didnt mention takeway and they didnt ask me when I ordered), I tell him ‘ okay do I have to pay more because I have to seat’ keep in mind I am also 9 months pregnant, not that it is their problem, but taking a waffle on a plate with fork and knife while pregnant and think that I am going to eat it where?? They didnt care they said very harshly no( have in mind that in two tables there were people eating and drinking not close to finishing). I am and was very surpised and just walked away. The waffle was disgusting, very old dough sticky and not fluffy at all, very hard to chew, please avoid this place and horrible horrible stuff. The owner should really know that there are other people who really need a job and do their best when they finally have one, the ones that are currently working shouldn’t be there. I have been visiting this bar for over 20 years now from being a sassy teenager to the nearly middle aged adult that I am now. In all them years I have never had a bad experience. Now being a adult this is on my favourite places to visits when we come to the costa del sol. Not a visit goes by without a visit to Chiringuito la Torre.

I'm pretty sure we have had every cocktail on the menu and we always buy the bag of bread to feed the fish and the ducks we have a great time and spend hours at this bar.

Me and my husband have visited this little bar we call the fish bar for years yesterday we visit with our family from the second we sat down we were made to feel very unwelcome we had to go and ask for drinks waited a long time cocktails tasted of very little and the service ?
